I could sit here and debate almost all of these... Except for #1. My bf and I are fairly difficult to shock... During that scene in Elfen Lied, we both sat and stared at the computer screen, wide eyed... I'm pretty sure I teared up..

Thing is, I don't think it's the events in and of themselves that make them traumatizing (Again, except for #1), it's the other factors. Mainly that it a) occurs in front of people that care for them and b) those people are, more often then not, children.

Oh I laughed so hard at the Higurashi. It's so true. TO those who haven't seen it though, it's a lot deeper and better than this video makes it out to be. Its a disturbingly psychological murder mystery that is split into different arks that all run parallel. It one of the best, but truly traumatizing animes I've ever seen.
