wth theres a slate droid? only 2-4 hours battery life :O thats so bad particular for the size of the thing its huge its battery should last longer than that! what a joke how wants to carry this around with them if it can barely last 2 hours clearly its never going to leave your house before it becomes just a annoyance to carry around when the battery dies maybe you might just leave it on the bus on purpose?

@patsybob I put a solar charger used for cell phones on the back of mine, so when I'm running low on battery I just turn it upside down for awhile and charge it back up. then I can go all day without ever finding a spot to charge it.

@doodledude12321 Lol I do have a tripod, I used it for my first review. I did this one in literally 5 minutes and just picked up the camera and shot the video. I would've used one but I wasn't actually planning on doing this video, I just did this video to satisfy an arrogant, irritating and quite frankly RUDE dimwitt who made a load of complaints about my last video being sped up.

But don't worry I will always use a tripod if the video is planned :)

The customfirmware for it is Slatedroid.

@BinaryCoder in the google group for the Eken M001 we had a discussion about what to nick name the device, some suggested gablet and many more, Slatedroid was chosen as it was most favoured.

The creator of the Eken M001 google then decided to make a new forum with the nickname, this forum then grew as the device became more popular and they made their own custom firmware.

Slatedroid is simply a nickname for this tablet, the firmware was derived from that.

@britishgoose01 It does not have flash in the browser but DOES play flash files and can therefore play Youtube videos. When you select a video on the Youtube app hit menu and then play normal quality and it will work.

@DeejeeBeejee Yeah. It plays .FLV (Flash) files and also .MP4 files if you have them at the right codec. If you visit slatedroid(dot)com and search for how to put videos on it then you will find how to do it there.

@MorganKFleming hello thnx for the vids, well it would be most helpful if you could do another video, as it is difficult to find a good representation of an updated device using the latest firmware build's showing the usability of the Eken device. Placing the firmware information in the title would also be helpful for people to find the video.
