i still prefer a ptrd 6-8 rounds per minute. shoot at weak spot in helicopter or rotor blades and down they go. ptrd should have no problems penetrating a heli. of course you need to be a good shooter.

Actually, this Minigun has the ability of reaching 6000 rounds a minute. The only reason why it's 3000-4000 is because the 6000 RPM is too ammo consuming, as there'd be no way to hold enough ammo for a rate of fire that high.

The EX17 was half the size and half the weight of the M134, was self powered, had a cyclic ROF twice what the M134 was capable of and was cheaper and had fewer parts. It should then come as no surprise that this gun, being better than the M134 in every measurable way, was naturally rejected.

The 5th SF group in Iraq nicknamed the uparmored HMMWV with the M134 package, "The Ghost of Sadr City". Having fired this piece, it is absolutely able to live up to it's name. This piece has no real recoil since it's hard mounted. Also, for you gamers, the triggers are on the back and not on the top of the unit.

Also, there is no spool up. You want to be able to fire this system with one hand...just in case.
