No, the actors sucked. Face it, it was a good idea for a movie, but one cannot get very far with bad actors. Just look at the girl. She couldn't have acted any worse. A two year old could have done better.

I am correct. I don't think I've ever seen as bad acting as this (except for in "Alive") This movie was truly awful.

I only wanted to see the movie. I wasn't aware that I had to read the book in advance of watching it. Did you have to go to Disney World to ride Pirates of the Caribbean before seeing the movie?

Good idea. From my experience, the book is always better than the movie. Its one of the rules of Hollywood. BUT, I shouldn't have to read the book to enjoy the movie. The book may be better, but I shouldn't have to read it to enjoy the movie. Thats how I see it.

I agree, anyway, that sometimes they make films that can't be understood without reading the book, and that's bad because sometimes people don't even know that a book for that film exists

I am curiouse as to why you think that the actors did such a poor job, what was it about them that you didn't like? Do you perhaps believe there could have been better?

I can say that the actors are bad by comparing them to their recent accomplishments. August Rush was one of Freddie Highmore's preceding works, and I thought it was great. He played his character perfectly, and I couldn't ask for a better performance. Freddie Highmore can play some parts well, and some not so well. It's all in the balance of Hollywood. If you disagree with my opinion, so be it. We're both people, right? We can argue. :)

oh of course not.. I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing with your oppinion. I haven't seen the movie yet, though I am looking forward to, mostly because I like Freddie Highmore. I believe that each is entitled to their oppinion when it comes to film, that's one of the best things about the art is the critique..
