This is clearly going to be about Tom Zane. After all he shows up in the game "I am here because it is written" - Tom Zane, and you hear so much yet so little about him, "He was a poet, and a good one" - Alan Wake. Its like hearing of a untold legend... then finally meeting him.

The screenshot from the link in the description shows: a sigh that says "Nightsprings" which was a boardgame/videogame/tv sow in Alan Wake, some sort of nail gun in Alans right hand (if it is alan). A motel which the letters are to blury for me to read but i think it says "Barbra shore" or "Debra shore" motel.

and why do people think Alice Wake would be good. She was trapped, id be surprised if she even knew how to use a gun. It wouldnt be the same. it needs to be Alan hes the Awesome kick ass hero that saves the town. not his defensless wife

I got ever achievement in the first one and got as indepth into the story as any player possibly could. if the next game doesnt live up to its predesessor im gunna rage at Remedy

To be honest, I think they should have made it a sequel, and made from his wife's point of view. The fact that she is a afraid of the dark makes more things possible, monster-wise. They could make the game even creepier and more badass! With an awesome soundtrack. and like CanRay2000 said, call it Alice Wake. God I'm just thinking about it already!

I reckon it'll be a new protagonist but this will be the story that Alan was writing at the end of the DLC "The Writer". The story and the events of the game will have been created by Alan, in an attempt to defeat the darkness perhaps

So if it's called Night Springs and is an XBLA title, then I'm guessing it'll be episodic in nature like the show is(or Twilight Zone), and each level is a separate story. I can see it work, but I still don't really get why they did this instead of AW2.

How can Remedy make a prequel for a game that starts pretty suddenly. The first game already flashes back a few times and shows Alan's life was pretty fine for the most part. He was a successful writer that partied a lot. Unless the next Alan Wake is a party simulator then there is nothing they can do for a prequel, as he certainly wasn't fighting the Taken when he was writing the books following the life of fictional cop Alex Casey.

Hmmmmm I'm guessing they r already working on the sequel to Alan Wake and this is perhaps a prequel in order to tie the whole story together and to prepare us for the sequel. Who knows it just might be.

@UshiromiyaReiji I bet Microsoft has their part in this. M$ wants to make as much money as possible. And easy way to get more money out of Alan Wake is to widen the audience.

I bet the game will be kick ass no matter what. Remedy is all about quality.

I loved it BECAUSE it was not meant to please the lowest common denominator, because it was a mature game, aimed at people, who expect a lot more from a piece of entertainment than just mindless shooting.

If Remedy really has sold out and is going to make some sort of Kinect/XBLA game (It's only been less than a year since the first game came out and only "a slice" of the team is working on it), I will just fall into depression.

@UshiromiyaReiji I feel the same way. I don't care if Alan Wake isn't the best selling game series. I too want a mature game with good story and atmosphere. I believe that Remedy can deliver it as a prequel too.

And maybe Remedy had no other choices. If Microsoft is out then they have no way of publishing the game. Microsoft migth even own the publishing rights to the game so they couldn't find a new publisher. I'm not sure about these things but they would make perfect sense.

XBLA fans, the website, responsible for leaking numerous XBLA titles before the official announcement has stated that, quote "An extremely trusted source has leaked to us that the upcoming Alan Wake: Night Springs will be an Xbox Live Arcade title and not a retail release. We have seen screen caps, but have been asked not to disclose them at this time. We have emailed Microsoft asking for a comment and will update as the situation develops."
