the Quattro is the ultimate rally car, nothing ever comes close :D I hate Ford for what they did, causing the banning of group B, the RS 200 was doomed from the beginning, sure a few Quattros crashed, rallying is awful these days Audi needs to come back with a new Quattro

The golf will be remembered in history where as the 205 GTI wont, nowadays you see the 205 ruined chaved out and unrecognisable, with insurance being fairly expensive for young drivers, the key market wouldn't buy something that old, they'd opt for a Ford Focus RS. With it being a Poegouet as well it will drop to bits. I own a 307 XSI 2.0 Litire and it is the worst bit of junk ever, since 2007 its had 125 problems to name a few :P

Let's not forget that rally spectators in Portugal at the time were almost suicidal in their attempts to get close to the action, as if they were playing toreador with the cars. I wonder how much that had to do with the RS200 crash.
@JBofBrisbane yes you are right, the spectators were part of the problem as soon as group b lifted off and became extremely popular. But on this occasion Stig Blomqvist hit these fans because of heavy understeer in a corner and he had no control over the car. This is too bad,,,im always wondering what WRC would be like today if we still had group B...It will be greatly missed...

As tragic as the accident was, it was kind of Darwinian selection in action as those too stupid to mind their own safety kind of deserved what happened to them. Their selfishness not only put themselves in danger but also made driving even more hazardous for the drivers who had to worry about spectators as well as focus on the road.
Owned a Mark 1 Golf GTI back in 1990/1991 and then had a Pug 205 GTI 1.6 from 1992 to 1996
The Golf was great, but the Pug was incredible - best car I've ever driven. The 205 GTI is king of all hot hatches and until something better comes along, always will be.
The 306 gti6 was nearly as good as the 205gti. Nearly. Then Peugeot lost the plot. Heavier, bigger, duller and ugly gurning faces. And no, I'm not commenting on der Jeremy. He is is like a beautiful waife compared to the recent Pug outings. He handles better too.
