  • OMG YOU ARE SO WRONG!

Harry and Ginny had 3 kids! :P

You know how I feel about angst and logical endings. I should probably go film my vlog now.

  • THREE. FOUR. WHATEVER. IT'S THAT AMOUNT TOO MANY IF YOU ASK ME!

You probably should. After all, you have pancakes to eat tomorrow! And no, I don't know what that has to do with vlogs.

  • I almost commented on the Harry Potter epilogue in my video, so I'm happy that you brought it up.

I agree that some epilogues are awesome, but the majority of the ones I've read are crap. They have no real reason to be there other than because it tickles the writer's fancy. If it doesn't further or wrap up the story, keep it out!

  • I am here to have your unpopular opinions!

Prologues and epilogues both rub me the wrong way more often than not. I don't know. Maybe I'm just getting cranky in my old age. ;)

  • Please don't correct my punctuation, I was dealing with the comment limit :P

  • I like the way you think.

I only read true or supposedly true accounts. This includes history, science, biographers and autobiographers. Long gone are the days when I plowed through mountains of science fiction and fantasy. I still have my favorites like Robert A. Heinlein, Douglas Adams but I would be much happier to sit down and read about the life and works of Nikola Tesla than indulge in pure story telling. epilogues are old fashioned but useful when applied appropriately to the text involved.

  • Worry not! I will not correct your punctuation. :p

I'm still a fan of pure story telling, but my tastes have definitely toned down in my old age. I can no longer read high fantasy, for instance. I find myself becoming impatient with it. And I do quite like histories and biographies and philosophy texts. I think there's a lot to learn about story telling from just studying history. You're right of course, I enjoy appropriately used epilogues. I just see so few of them these days.
