they had too many stores. You don't need five starbucks stores in a five mile radius. And you don't need 4 of them across from each other at the SAME INTERSECTION.

starbucks made a huge mistake opening too many stores too close to each other. And it sreported that Starbucks will close so many more stores this year.

Businesses keep making riduculous decisions that make them end up in financial trouble and many store closures to even bankruptcy. I dotn think Starbucks will go bankrupt, but 2 stores within a short block is ridiculous. Only if each store is doing well should it be kept. Only good thing about the many stores was more jobs

@Shermstyle23 You need 3 starbucks in one corner so that other competitors dont open their stores in the same area and take customer saway from Starbucks+3 stores in 1 corner eliminates queues that would even be worse if there was only 1 store and every customer going into 1 store.

And they are closing stores not because of cannibalization.

First: Open one Starbucks next to the other one.

If u recognise a lower profit in your shops, you can be sure your independent competors will recognise that too!

Second: If your independent competors are knocked out of the race you can raise the prices!

Third: And finally you can reduce the ridicoulsy high amount of stores.

(cause they are not needed any more, to wipe out all the small beatyfull cafe`s)

After my son and his buddies (in the Suni triangle of Iraq at the time) sent an email to starbucks praising there products. Got the reply from someone there "we do not support the US military or anything it does" or something like that. I HOPE THEY ALL CLOSE

i´m not surprised about this. Starbucks´s politic. i´m going to open 700 new stores, i´m gonna pay a shit of salary and later if i take the really clever decision of closing all these new stores it will be ok ´cause a dismissal for Starbucks is almost free.

People don't NEED coffee. Is a WANT. Gas on the other hand is a NEED here in america that affects all of us. I can choose weather or not to go to starbucks and get a $5 cup of coffee, but i need 2 get gas to go to work, my house, groceries etc.

Why hate starbucks? its a nice place, a nice environment, and prices aren't comparatively high. If you go to a local coffee shop, I guarantee you will pay the same or more. The drink I get at starbucks is cheap!! around 2 bucks for a venti (the biggest size) passion iced tea
