  • two new tips i learned when moving through mud. the key is to maintain momentum and turn your steering wheel back and forth rapidly when you begin to lose traction to that the tires can bite into the dirt.

  • i confused friction with traction in another vid and now feel like a complete idiot.

  • these vids are great, i only got hooked on 4wding the other day when i gave it a go

  • if u can move while spinning ur wheels, u might stand a good chance of being able to rock it out, however u will dig ruts. just thought id add fyi

  • Excellent. If more people were responsible like this, there'd be more trails to ride.

Or A trail to ride here....

  • yea you have to stop to go into 4 lo you dont have to in 4 hi

  • Nice work!

  • This doesn't explain if I have to stop the vehicle to engage the 4wd.

  • It shows you right at the beginning - shift to a low gear, then shift to 4WD. You don't have to stop.

  • not to mention most 4wd have 4w hi shift on the fly so if you gunna get stuck you can just put her right into 4wd

  • with the NP231 transfer case (most wranglers) you have to roll at about 2-3 mph for the smoothest engagement of 4lo

  • If you put it in 4 lo you gotta stop & put it in neutral then engage it. You can be movin' & still put it in 4 hi

  • no, u only have to stop the vehicle to put it in 4low, 4 high can be achieved while moving at speeds up to 55 mph.
