awsome vid n tunes, so glad i was part of the hiphop scene in the 80's wish id gone a bit easy on the breakin tho, as my old bones are suffering for it now lol
I'm very polarized. I have only the highest respect for both the kids who were coming up in the city at that time b/c of their strength and smarts, and also for a more genteel lifestyle. Where I grew up was the absolute opposite of the spectrum from SB, I'd have gotten brutalized living in the city. My respect for civility and all those nice things are very high, yet I understand there are situations when it becomes necessary to discard them, especially when it comes to survival
Amazing how such an eyesore for the city back then just seems so beautiful to me present day. Brings back great memories of the era. The grafitti, b-boying, mc-ing....all of it the DNA of hip-hop. I don't even recognize the shit coming out now.
The new generation thinks Hip Hop is all about fronting and who has more bling bling than the other person. Back then you can sense the Unity through the music. It was your skills that made you more superior than your peers.
my momz n sum old school people i knew grew up around that time..besides the disco scene..and coke..the 70's and then going to the 80's wasnt no joke..especially in the ghetto's of the NYC..like south bronx, harlem, lower east side.etc
ths movie savd my life were am from we have gangs and all that hood related horse shit after seeing that zoro peace paintind thatw as it been doin it since 03 and dont think i could ever stop
