Copyright laws are supposed to encourage creativity, not squander it.

I don't see how, as a country, we benefit when copyright laws are so restrictive that those holding the copyrights are given the authority to arbitrarily limit an artist's ability to exhibit his art.

It's utterly asinine.

As a (semi-)professional artist myself, the current state of copyrights is useless to me; I gain absolutely nothing when I'm granted the ability to retain copyrights 70 years after my death, and I hardly have the resources or money to enforce my copyright claims even if I wanted to.

The current copyright laws helps nearly exclusively those who wish to hold their legislatively-sanctioned monopoly on their intellectual property; the innovators are left holding their dicks and their hands tied.

I'm starting to really hate Youtube now. They should take out the "You" and put corporate in its place. This is ridiculous I actually when I saw that the copyright sharks got to several of your videos. This is just madness in my opinion, I to had to take down about 7 videos because of copyright. I did have a bunch of ideas to put up but since this corporate crap is taken place I'm limiting myself big time because I had it up to her with this copyright infringement crap!

I know a lot of people producing content would object, but I have seen videos that said "Includes Content by Studio X" and I thought that was a reasonable solution. But there's no dialogue between you and WMG, for example, to even make any sort of compromise possible.

It is baffling and stupid that the companies in question can't see beyond the copyright infringement in these cases, although I have a hard time blaming YouTube for it (since they're essentially just the middleman, and any media company claiming infringement would just sue).

This sucks. I noticed just the other day that Black20 had also gone down, they of 300: PG Version, Journey at the Center of the Earth and others, and Corey Vidal's Moosebutter Star Wars Tribute was also off the site (although the other version, with the actual band in it, was left up, presumably because they performed for the video and didn't use the existing recording). Vidal's video is up for some sort of People's Choice Award and people can't even see it!

All I can say is FUCK! I went back to check on The Films of Stanley Kubrick, & sure enough there's this message: "This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled." What the f--? Barringer82 has reinvigorated by love of movies & with his excellent clips I've actually bought loads of DVDs. Isn't barringer82's clips beneficial to DVD sales? Now I'm outraged! Talk about shooting the messenger. I'm mad as hell & I'm not going to take this anymore!

Anyways, I've been to your site ever since you've first announced it last year and it was great seeing some videos there before they were put on youtube like the later episodes of WOWMANWOW and what I call the UNCUT version of The films of David Fincher.

I have loved your work ever since I first saw The Films Of Paul Thomas Anderson and have enjoyed your incredible editting talents.
