  • top draw tune well played too.

  • Someone thought that the audio and video are out of sync... No! The video is DIFFERENT from the sound track! The person who is playing (sound) looks to be ANOTHER pianist, unfortunately I do not have the fatal hint. Oliver Jones?

  • @luizmiranda1950 nope, it IS gene, and it IS the real audio. No Idea why it's out of sync now. I could bet that it wasn't when I uploaded this video! Weird...

  • the olny bad thing about this video is that the audio and video are out of sync, otherwise stunning of course!

  • gene is my hero and this is one of my favorite song...so beautiful.

  • john heard was play with cal tjader,is one of my favorite bassist.(john heard toco con cal tjader,es uno de mis bajistas favoritos.)

  • bass player does wear a cool hat thats for damn sure

  • Gene Harris is a knockout, but I must admit the bass player whoever he is runs him a close second. A superb rendition of Green Dolphin Street

  • @harrywilkinson1

Harry - The first Gene Harris album I heard 3 Sounds was defining - tight tight tight! : Had Green Dolphin St + PLUS the finest Love for Sale.. Tammy's Breeze (for his daughter)

Here's hoping someone will read this - take pity and upload those first 3 first songs - Pleeeze someone? I wore the platter out and now long gone... thanks

  • this is not a five star pianist ,but a six star. Tremendous drive ably back by some excellent bass playing and drumming

  • @harrywilkinson1

If this is a six star pianoplayer, then Oscar P. must be a 10 star one!!!

  • has gene harris always been that amazing a jazz-piano improvisor? Because until now I only knew his late sixties stuff with "the three sounds", songs like "repeat after me", where he is strictly blues and funk. anyone?

  • he played lots of jazz in the 50s and 60s, then got more into the contemporary "disco" and funk thing, then ray brown kinda got him out of his early retirement in the 80s. Check out all the Ray Brown Trio stuff from the 80s and 90s! It's the most amazing jazz trio!

  • cool thx.

  • gene is my favorite piano player. i have most of his recordings, call 916-308-6802.

also, check out robert turner on youtube.

  • It's all about "Live at the It Club" CD. My favorite Jazz recording.....

  • ohh my goddddddddddddddd!!!!
