You go gurl, shoot that son-of-a-bitch again. My dad shot a black rattler one time that had 16 rattles and a button, that thing looked evil. My mom came running down the steps one time and said "there's a snake out in the yard", she was as white as ghost. I could hear that thing buzzing 30 yards away. I prefer a shotgun for dealing with rattlers, usually about 3 or 4 blasts.
We get rattlesnakes on our back porch on a regular basis, and we kill them. They are not endangered, but they do endanger the lives of my family and my neighbors. Good job shooting the snake.
(i got to shoot all kinds of stuff) 1st awsome 29, 2nd the (aparantly a apartment dweller) who cries about killing a venomus snake has never lived in the country ,some states do protect snakes (tenn ,kentucky) but do to the climate theres not alot of snakes there to start whith
@killerbydayornight Howdy! I agree that most who cry foul, do not live with these snakes, or are owners of "pet" snakes. There's a difference in living with wild snakes that are of huge populations, and ...not. GOD put a variety of animals on this earth for a reason, and he made humans the top of most food chains as well for a reason. I'll choose being proactive to keep my family safe as possible at all times.
I say rid the earth of the damn things. And for all you poison snake lovers tell your kids to go and pick some wildflowers and pet the damn snake as you lower you kid into the ground. I think these snake should be eradicated off the earth and there should be a ten dollar bounty on all of them.
Don't ever think I've seen a rattlesnake in Texas. I've been to Big Bend State Park, Sam Houston National Forest, near Pedernales Falls, some places near Kileen but I am happy I haven't seen one yet. I have though seen several of cottonmouths here.
If you want to kill a dangerous animal for your safety that's your business. Once a rattlesnake is spotted it's no longer a life threat to you really. It will not run after you. I'd rather evade that animal. And also I wouldn't live in a country with an overrun snake population if I was terrified of them. Well I'm not scared of them. Sure I love them.
@szomor1 Understand ur point but here's mine. We hunt hogs and track them after dark, and many times crawling on our hands and knees in the dense vegetation in this specific area. I want to remove the threat I may come face to face with later one when I can't flee. Take it out now so I don't have to tangle with it later. Proactive.
@hoghunterdiva Sure. I'm just curious whether you obtained a hunting licence that allows you to shoot day and night. If this specific area of yours is littered with dangerous snakes, it would be a grave negligence on the part of the authorities to issue such licences without certain restrictions. You could even sue them for compensation should any of the hunters gets bitten by a rattler. Hope it never happens!
@szomor1 I'm actually a certified instructor for our Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. Our hunting licenses allow you to hunt whatever according to the published regulations that are assembled annually. We Texans aren't into over regulation, and if a species is endangered, it is quickly protected. We have one of the best programs here worldwide concerning Hunting and Fishing. Now dabbling with politics, I strongly beleive there needs to be a stricter reg. snake program for exotic species.
Interesting to see all the "dislikes" on this video. Disturbing to know that so many liberal whackjobs are running loose in this country. There simply is no such thing as a good rattlesnake.
I was bit by a rattler along a highway in Colorado while checking a noisy tire. One fang went into my foot. $43,000, 6 months recovery, and about 160 stitches to sew my exploded leg back together. Kill em if you ever see one.
Made it a good snake. got bit by copper head some years back. Not a pleasant experience. Good snake is under my tire, in sight of pistol or already dead. I live on lake front in east Texas....I toss mothballs in the rocks....helps keep the snakes away. Moths don't liket it either, (it was their balls!... ; ^)
Haha this is so redneck, I love it! Going to the US, and more specifically Texas on vacation in a couple of months, I'll look out for these amongst other snakes and whatnot.
rattle snake are poisnous, they can kill you if they bite you, when i see these snake...including copper snake...so i rather kill the snake and live and not get bitten by one
I know people may say you arent supposed to kill rattlesnakes, but i mean i shoot as many as i want because in the deep south they are like an overrunning species!
Nice shootin.... Even a dead rattler isn't a good one! Nasty ass things to live around for sure.
Although...I don't go out of my way to kill one...just if it scares me..LOL then it's gotta go. If I just see one...then I let the Bull Snakes take care if it...at their leasure. Good Video
@fatimmortal I carry the revolver because I do a lot of tracking in the thick, dense brush at night and a shotgun would hinder me even more getting through that stuff. The revolver was chosen due to it's ability to discharge a shot shell and hollow points, being I track hogs in the night in the brush. Can't use these type shells in a semi auto clip. Good question! Thanks for asking!
@hoghunterdiva Nice kill! I carry shot shells for my .40 cal semi automatic pistol, but i haven't had to use them yet. Would they do the same damage on snakes this size?
I have no problem with people killing snakes as long as they eat them. I hope this is what you did. If not it would make me sad but on another note. Nice shot!
@SwimbaitNewEngland Actually, we're over OVER populated with them "down here". If you're a NATIVE Texan, you would know this, especially if you're familiar with south Texas. So thick, towns have Rattle snake round ups and bring in so many each round up but still see them thick so not even putting a dent in the population where this one was taken. Another critter thick down there but not anywhere else is Horned Toads. LOve watching those eat ants. We spend lots of time outdoors.
@hoghunterdiva I grew up in West Texas in Kenedy and we no longer see Horned Toads and very seldomly do we see rattle snakes. I think you're mistaken. I do go hog hunting everytime we come home to visit. Love it!
@SwimbaitNewEngland Well, then you grew up in a different Kenedy Texas since it's not located in west Texas. It is located in south Texas, and I see and film horned toads often there. Also film rattlers quite often. Can show you photos of the womans body and what happened to it that was hit by a rattler on this property. Its not pretty, quite painful and very costly hospital bills. Maybe you should go argue with your mama since you are so smart. After you take a geography class.
@THEJARRETTP123 LOL! Thanks buddy. Yes, I'm a country girl. We tend to have to learn how to take care of things on our own and don't need rescuing or help. I have to admit though, I used to be a prissy girl sorta, being a beautician in my younger days. So I know what you mean! If women want to be treated as equals, they need to be equal and self sufficient. Thank you for the post!
@Doyouknowhowmuchusuc It is the way to go when dealing with snakes as far as Im concerned. See? It's a mini shot shell so comparing that to a single projectile isn't even comparing apples to apples. You have a better chance with more projectiles than just one. I've done this several times over the years also using a .357 before I owned the .44. This would be the only reason I carry that heavy arse revolver and not a lighter semi auto handgun. Can't load this in a clip. Good Hunting!
@Doyouknowhowmuchusuc .44 mag. I need it for snakes and charging hogs both so I carry the revolver with 2 loads of snake (rat) shot in the first two cylinders, and 4 hollow points behind that. If Im tracking a big hog, I roll it to the hollow points. So far, it's worked for me with this set up for several years. Haven't had a snake get away from me yet after being shot, and will drop a charging hog right now, not in a few seconds with a well placed shot in the head. Time counts in the brush.
@mrerschroeder THAT is hilarious! Where did you ever see that in any media or book? Tell that to the all the folks who have spent weeks in the hospitals in south texas and lost limbs. Of course the ones who lost thier lives can;'t reply to this. Just those I personally know would laugh at you too. Sorry but I had to share my thoughts and opinions also. Most who have ideas such as youve posted never have experienced an area with lots of rugged country and high populations rattlesnakes.
@mrerschroeder Since I didn't post your last ridiculous obsurd comment, let's do this test. You in a 5'x5' room with my gun and a rattler for a few days and let's put your claim to the test. I'll guard the door so no one can mess with you. How about that? Whatever you do, don't shoot the snake, it is merely there to see if the gun will kill you before the rattler would. Good Luck! LOL! ( just can't fix stupid can we?)
Texas boy myself...nice rattler...I would have fried that bastard up :) have you heard that if you kill a big one...like a 7 footer and turn it belly up it is suppose to make it rain? It's an Indian thing.
As of Sept. 24, 2011, found a dead body of a woman in a field that was snake bit and died, then eaten by the coyotes behind my lease. Wonder what her family thinks of killing rattlers where they are overpopulated.
@SICKDOG831 LOL! You're talking about California, the land of fruits & nuts and tree huggers? I have a better idea. Come to south Texas and let's let the animals teach you why we aren't the ignorant bastards, the queers of Cali are. LOL! Every heard of a hog pit or a snake pit? Spend some time down south in the real rugged country side, not the city. I bet yhou learn a thing or two if you survive. Have a nice day in the city.
@hoghunterdiva I'm from california and I hunt please don't think we're all ignorant bastards that don't understand population control. and sickdog. shut the fuck up.
@TheVizard56 Thank you, and I know not all there are abnormal people as I have several friends and fellow club members who hunt there, although there aren't many hunting opportunities. Mostly for hogs and exotics. But the tree huggin' city loving yupies who feel the need to TELL everyone else what we should do and think are pretty thick! LOL! Have a great day friend!
@hoghunterdiva SICKDOG is exactly why I moved out of California. I now call Arkansas home. It's not Texas...but it's in the South. Best move I ever made. Bambi burgers are on the menu around our campfire.
Why don't you just say in California and keep your ignorant opinions to yourself, "respect nature" LOL, you're a fucking idiot! I'm not even from the south, and I know enough to kill rattlers when you see them.
omg omg why dont you PUSSIES cry about it...its a FUCKING snake..... when they are all over the place and endanger people at ANY time.....they DESERVE to die..... stupid fucking hippes saying its bad to kill shit....too bad you werent in front of the gun instead of that snake.....some people are just too stupid to understand why she did that...people who are scared of guns are the people who cower in fear when something crazy happens...being a pussy will get you killed in certain situations
@DIGITALSCREAMS I certainly do. I enjoy feeding needy families and my own with meat I harvest and vegetables I grow. That pleases me greatly. I feel like I am an asset to the world being able to feed people who need help, especially in this day and time. I might add it is much healthier than the store bought meat and veggies since it is organic and not pen or cage raised. I also feel like being proactive in keeping my people safe is a good thing as well. It's all about family, friends and pets.
@DIGITALSCREAMS haha dont act like that that rattlesnakes your friend.. that snake would kill you and anyone else if you got too close to it, and alot of time you wont know it's there till your right on top of it... atleast she does something with the snake afterwards and doesnt just leave it there for the buzzards. give her some credit for that..
@fiercepitbull12 sex change haha and i smoke till i got chest pains and you know i rep my game like jessie james :P had 2 go weezy when i seen your comment lol
@rockisntdeadyet I lost three finger because of a rattler. I DARE you to go and try to kill one with your bare hands. See who's quicker.. you or the snake.
I love snakes, but that is a DAMN FINE shot, Ma'am. I think you earn a trophy or something, a snake's head is about the size of a leaf, and it can move at anytime. What is the caliber of the shot?
@bigboy10131969 Umm, not yet. They sure look like they would be good to eat being white meat. My pet hog eats them after I skin them out. Thanks for the comment! I appreciate you!
@mackles LOL! Not. I come with a man, 5 grown kids, ( actually all older than yourself :) ) and 8 grandkids and several pets. That was funny stuff! Thanks for the giggle, even if it was sarcastic. I'm an old lady.
I suppose if it had to be done, it had to be done. Though in my opinion I'd prefer to leave the killing to someone else, and for it to at least be done in a dignified manner (i.e. not beaten to death or tortured before they die). If any animal of any sort must die, they should die quickly so as to not prolong the pain of any kind. I certainly wouldn't want to be tortured or in throbbing pain before the eternal sleep.
@mysteryman1800 Obviously, you're the lowlife by reading your comment. Your mother teach you that colorful language or did you learn this in school? Not a very smart feller either if you don't understand why the snake was removed, and you watched a video you knew you wouldn't like. Duh! Ha ha! Some other people's kids.
@mysteryman1800 orrr umm durr..try and have a think..city boy.....maybe because its poisonous... ..venomous snakes around your kids..pets and livestock.....is that a good thing..

I'll guard the door so no one can mess with you. How about that? Whatever you do, don't shoot the snake, it is merely there to see if the gun will kill you before the rattler would. Good Luck! LOL! ( just can't fix stupid can we?)
hoghunterdiva 4 months ago 2
@mrerschroeder I wish the rattler or the gun would take you out. People like you are what's wrong with the world today...

As of Sept. 24, 2011, found a dead body of a woman in a field that was snake bit and died, then eaten by the coyotes behind my lease. Wonder what her family thinks of killing rattlers where they are overpopulated.

SICKDOG831 5 months ago

TheVizard56 5 months ago 2
@TheVizard56 Thank you, and I know not all there are abnormal people as I have several friends and fellow club members who hunt there, although there aren't many hunting opportunities. Mostly for hogs and exotics. But the tree huggin' city loving yupies who feel the need to TELL everyone else what we should do and think are pretty thick! LOL! Have a great day friend!
hoghunterdiva 5 months ago
@hoghunterdiva SICKDOG is exactly why I moved out of California. I now call Arkansas home. It's not Texas...but it's in the South. Best move I ever made. Bambi burgers are on the menu around our campfire.

@nerblebun Glad you got out of there! Welcome home buddy! You'll enjoy Arkansas!

@SICKDOG831
Why don't you just say in California and keep your ignorant opinions to yourself, "respect nature" LOL, you're a fucking idiot! I'm not even from the south, and I know enough to kill rattlers when you see them.

Wish someone would legalise the hunting of people for sport.
DIGITALSCREAMS 7 months ago 7
@DIGITALSCREAMS I certainly do. I enjoy feeding needy families and my own with meat I harvest and vegetables I grow. That pleases me greatly. I feel like I am an asset to the world being able to feed people who need help, especially in this day and time. I might add it is much healthier than the store bought meat and veggies since it is organic and not pen or cage raised. I also feel like being proactive in keeping my people safe is a good thing as well. It's all about family, friends and pets.

Dbane567 7 months ago
@DIGITALSCREAMS haha dont act like that that rattlesnakes your friend.. that snake would kill you and anyone else if you got too close to it, and alot of time you wont know it's there till your right on top of it... atleast she does something with the snake afterwards and doesnt just leave it there for the buzzards. give her some credit for that..
silveradoboy91 7 months ago
@DIGITALSCREAMS If human hunting was legalized then the first people to go would be liberals like you who are afraid of guns and killing things.

I love snakes, but that is a DAMN FINE shot, Ma'am. I think you earn a trophy or something, a snake's head is about the size of a leaf, and it can move at anytime. What is the caliber of the shot?

@mackles LOL! Not. I come with a man, 5 grown kids, ( actually all older than yourself :) ) and 8 grandkids and several pets. That was funny stuff! Thanks for the giggle, even if it was sarcastic. I'm an old lady.
hoghunterdiva 8 months ago
I suppose if it had to be done, it had to be done. Though in my opinion I'd prefer to leave the killing to someone else, and for it to at least be done in a dignified manner (i.e. not beaten to death or tortured before they die). If any animal of any sort must die, they should die quickly so as to not prolong the pain of any kind. I certainly wouldn't want to be tortured or in throbbing pain before the eternal sleep.

mysteryman1800 8 months ago
@mysteryman1800 Obviously, you're the lowlife by reading your comment. Your mother teach you that colorful language or did you learn this in school? Not a very smart feller either if you don't understand why the snake was removed, and you watched a video you knew you wouldn't like. Duh! Ha ha! Some other people's kids.
