This is a scene from ME3. Notice that it is EDI talking to them. Why is Noveria covered in explosions when all that happened in ME1 was that one of the labs was taken over? It's much later on in this scene and it's being attacked by Reapers.

@LefteyeRighthand Yes. You absolutely have to go to Therum, Feros, and Noveria. It doesn't matter in what order, but there is something to be gained from each one: you get the OSD from Benezia on Noveria; you get the cypher from Shiala on Feros; and when you get Liara from Therum, she identifies some of the images from your vision as being from Ilos. Of course, Virmire is a no-brainer.

@Triangularthing There are two planets under attack. The main character can only save one of them. He ignores the distress call from the closer planet, and instead moves to assist the farther planet. The narrator then reflects on the difficulty of having to chose who lives and who dies.

That's really all there is to it.

As much as I prefer a male hero, female Shepard's voice acting is way better than male Shepard. As you said, that's not to say Mark Meer didn't do a good job, but it wasn't spectacular. In my opinion, femShep's acting IS spectactular and I would say she's definitely the stronger character out of the two.

A lot of this material was cut from the game or repurposed.  Caleston was renamed to Therum but is an actual planet in the second game.

And it's too bad you never actually have to choose which of two worlds to save. That would be crazy!
