In an economic standpoint this presidency was good. It wasn't the best but by far not the worst. You people are all stupid to think that the economy plummeted because of the war and expenditures. The housing market was actually at its highest on 2006 under Bush, and nobody was complaining. The economy fell because of housing and technology crashes not war you retards. War creates profit (not the case with this one but this one created jobs!).

And those trillions that were spent on the war could have been spent domestically, that would have totally changed history.
It was the federal government that screwed the housing market. The Department of Housing and Urban Development forced lenders to lend to groups of people with bad credit scores, ones they probably would not have lent to otherwise. This spilled over into the financial sector because of mortgage-backed securities, which ultimately fell apart.

Bush CUT taxes when he should have raised them or at least left them as they were so we wouldnt run up these huge deficits from the two wars, not to mention that huge prescription drug plan for seniors

The war appropriation estimate is currently 1.3 trillion bucs which isn't even to mention the lagging costs of paying interest on borrowed funds and veteran pymts. The wars have taken their toll mate.

@TheMattd546 actually when clinton left office there was about 5.6 trillion in debt (current dollars) and the us was running budget *surpluses*. then the gop got the white house and ... yeah. deficits came running back. of course obama has increased the debt, he had to deal with the worst financial crisis since the depression. if the gop would agree to sensible taxation the deficit wouldn't be such a big deal, clinton showed that.
also there is not a recession right now, just a crap economy.

In an economic standpoint this presidency was good. It wasn't the best but by far not the worst. You people are all stupid to think that the economy plummeted because of the war and expenditures. The housing market was actually at its highest on 2006 under Bush, and nobody was complaining. The economy fell because of housing and technology crashes not war you retards. War creates profit (not the case with this one but this one created jobs!).

It was the federal government that screwed the housing market. The Department of Housing and Urban Development forced lenders to lend to groups of people with bad credit scores, ones they probably would not have lent to otherwise. This spilled over into the financial sector because of mortgage-backed securities, which ultimately fell apart.

Also yes, the housing crash contributed, but so did the Bush tax cuts which (stimulated the economy [but unemployment stayed high]) also raised public debt considerably. The war appropriation estimate is currently 1.3 trillion bucs which isn't even to mention the lagging costs of paying interest on borrowed funds and veteran pymts. The wars have taken their toll mate.
