All men a women do not worship something, if by worship you mean subscribe to ideas that do not appeal to reason.

The only way a reasoning person can believe in heaven, hell, God, gods, angels, messiahs, blood atonement, talking snakes, etc, is to grant those ideas immunity from reason.

These kinds of worship songs express this very concept. These people mentally are putting ideas beyond their reasoning in an intentional manner.

wow, this reminds me so much of the old days when i would go with kari to a student-lead worship service when we were in college. she was just a participant at the time, but the atmosphere of this song brings me right back to that hotel conference room when we were 18 and we'd sing for the Lord.

The whole worship song versus praise song is an interesting issue, but. The only difference nowadays is that one is faster than the other!!

If you are in a church, you should feel accountable to your pastor. Obviously to God first, and other believers, at some point. How does that negate being accountable to the pastor??

A lot of times people confuse the ability to do adlibs (vocal arobics), or if one's voice is stong, loud, or powerful for being a "better" voice. I think that Kari keeps it simple on purpose. There's not a lot of show and flashy things to look at and listen to. She absolutely does not make a single bit of it about her, as far as she can help it.

Let me tell you, her heart is a playing a mass choir and symphony orchestra for her God, and He is pleased with her worship.

BUT there are some who are able to bring down the presence of God and some who are not called to do so. It just so happens that Kari Jobe is one of those angelic voices that God had annointed to bring down His glory.

I agree that there are some people who are specifically called be in worship ministry full time, but I don't agree that only some people are called to lead worship.

"bring DOWN" the presence of God? that implies He isn't with us to begin with. He's with us, regardless of whether we ask His presence to "be with us in this place" or not. :) "When two or three are gathered in my Name there I am in the midst of them" it doesn't say "when two or three are gathered and invite me..."

A skilled worship leader is sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading. This is by far the most important thing. Without this, God struggles to move because, oh, the song is over now and we have to do the next one.

Secondly, they know how to get the best out the band without pushing them(church bands are infamous for their politics).

Thirdly they are good performers- they know how to get people joining in with the praise and worship. This for the most part is not a spiritual thing.

i would like to know why everyone is so hyped up about having to have a beautiful voice to be able to worship God....i have never seen or heard anything in the Bible that says only the beautiful voices should praise God....it does say however to make a joyful noise unto the Lord....all u have to do is be joyful about praising God and be focused solely on Him and praise Him....u dont have to have the best voice to do so....
