  • what is great about this piece is dynamics and how you are telling a story and us as the listener are imagining what you were doing at that time in your life. For me it was feelings of cruising down the highway on a rainy night to the hospital to see if your son's alright, and the feeling of waiting and concern like is he going to be alright?,and then you find out that he's gonna make it and you assure him that he's ok and let him know how happy you are to have him in your life.

  • @spakattack Thanks for your nice and moving comment :-)

  • Impressive song. Its just amazing how can you inspire so much feelings trhoug the sounds. I cant hardly explain how can you make all my cells feel what you felt. More amazing is to see your fingers doing such a magical performance... Just Impressive. Thats how heaven should be!

  • Are you satisfied with the Exar Electronix CP-04 Compressor?

  • @wer888wer Yeah, I was, but I sold it long time ago. I mostly use my Axe-Fx Ultra nowadays, so I've sold a lot of my pedals..

  • Fantastic stuff. Do you offer an MP3 for purchase or download? I'm working my way through your impressive vids.

  • @vancoovur Thanks! You'll find a link to a mp3 version if you read the whole video info. I've been planning on making a solo album for many years, but it just hasn't happened yet..

  • I love watch you playing!

  • @baldol Thanks!

  • Wonderful song, greetings to Andreas.

    Robin :o)

  • Thx!

  • As father I was moved with the song and the facts. You are a real sensitive composer and amazing guitar player. In 02:18 you did remember me of Wishbone Ash ballads like, a 70´s british band I love . Thanks for share it. God bless Andreas and you.

  • Thank you very much!

  • very nice

  • Amen Brother,I like this one the best, of the vids ive seen So far, nice touch w/the incubator,

it looked like he was responding to your playing in the hospital, touching. makes me wonder if he likes to play music w/you? Any way I really enjoy the videos you make, you have very fluid and well thought out chord changes ,bass line ect... thanks for the lessons.

  • Thank you very much! Well, we've played together a little bit (he plays drums), but he's much more interested in playing Guitar Hero, WoW and other games..

  • Fantastic! You are a great player. I would love to trade solos on one anothers' projects via wav.file emailed. What would you think about that? Thanks for your demonstrations on the Axe FX. You have convinced me. I plan to post many more videos soon so please subscribe.

  • Thanks!

  • if your a father in the same way you play, so you're a very good father!

  • Haha, I hope so.. Thanks!

  • God bless you and Andreas!!!

  • Thanks, and the same to you!

  • вери гуд ёпта!

  • Is that russian..?

  • Yes it is Russian, you're amazing play

  • Ok, spasiba! ;-)

  • That was very much from the heart and it shows, I love your accoustic intro there and build; more smiles my freind! i have sent a link to my brother he likes new and undiscovered musicians too, but is less likely to say anything though. Can I add you as a freind?

  • Thanks, and yes, of course!

  • Red... I don't know your background, other than you are from Norway. I have a friend I grew up with, Erik Nordberg, his father Lief? was born in Norway and went back all the time. You, my friend are an inspiration. I enjoy watching how effortlessly you play the various guitars. I wish I could take some guitar lessons from you. Your version of Canon Rock is awesome! I will be watching more of you as time goes on. Rock on!

  • Thank you very much!

  • I would by your album if youd ever make one... Super feeling and phrasing, beautiful song. I also feel the 'paradox' of the love and happiness of your newborn, and the concern and fear of losing him, throughout the song.

Thanks for sharing this with the YouTube world man!

  • by = buy... typo, sorry ^^

  • Thank you, I really appreciate that! :-)

  • Beautiful...have enjoyed your Axe-FX videos as well. One of the major reasons I bought an Ultra!

  • Thanks, hope you're happy with your Ultra too!

  • wow it reminds me of van halen, he also wrote a song when her son was born, only that your song is better, thats a great composition:)

  • Thank you very much, and actually I didn't know that, I must check that out.

  • your chord sequence is really amazing. a natural born song writer most definately.

  • Thanks!

  • Beautiful, do have an album out ?

  • Thanks! No, not yet..

  • Then why the hell not?

  • so good man...thank u

  • Dette var rett og slett veldig bra! Fint fornavn, forresten...

    Mvh Ketil R. Osen

  • Tusen takk, og takk det samme ;-)

  • Et usedvanlig flott stykke musikk!

Ser frem til å høre mer!

    mvh Trygve

  • Tusen takk!

    mvh Ketil

  • You are a big insperation to me!

  • Thanks!

  • I like your music very much, my friend! You became one of my favorite musicians in youtube. Keep up the awesome work! Greetings from Bulgaria.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Hi Ketil,

our twins were born prematurely also, and to us your song pretty much sums up the emotions and atmosphere you gotta live through while looking at your babies in (an at first sight ugly thing like) an incubator. Great music, song- and guitarwise. Love it.

  • Thank you very much! It's very nice to get comments from others who have the same experience and that my song touched them in some way. I hope your twins are doing fine now.

    Regards, Ketil

  • Hi Hetil, thank you, they´re fine. It took six month for them to catch up. Hope your son is ok too.

    Greets.

  • Ok, I'm glad to hear that. How old are they? My son is 21 now (time really flies..), and he is fine, thank you!

  • Hi again,

our twins are just 4 years old. Rock&Roll all nite (and day).

By the way: I watched your axe-fx vid, I also use it but my acoustic sounds are by far not as good as yours. I used the same routing as you suggested in the vid. Would you please let me know your parameter settings? Greets from GER.

  • Ok ;-)

For the acoustic tracks the Axe Fx was set to Tube Pre Amp; Drive 3.5, Bass -4db, mid 0 ,Treble +12db, Presence 10 (the outboard mic I'm using on these tracks has very little treble..), Master and Level on max. And I added a little Sm Room Reverb, that's it. (Cab and Pwr Amp sim off)

  • Hi Ketil,

thanks for the infos about the settings. I´ll try to create the same routing with your parameters tonight and I hope it will sound as good as it did at your place. Thanks and greetz.

  • Very nice! Lot's of passion! Thanks

  • Thanks!

  • sounds so much like eric johnson. I love it.

  • Thanks, EJ is one of my favourites, so I really appreciate you're saying that!

  • Once again unbelievable, what you ar doing here. Great emotions! Please load up more vids, I´ve seen all your stuff now on Youtube and I´m begging for more....

  • That is sick. You're really annoying, I havn't got time to learn the guitar, this just makes me wanna.

  • A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Feeling in every single note. YOU are a TRUE MUSICIAN. The World would be better with more people like you.

  • Thank you very much! ;-)

  • I love how almost all your songs say in the description that they're dedicated to someone or something.

  • I have listened this at least 50 times, that's how good this is. For me you are the best guitarist on youtube, just because you play about every style and you play it flawless.

I was wondering if that Palmer DI box is anything good, since I'm searching for new ways to record my playing.

you are the master, greets from the netherlands.

  • Thank you, I appreciate that! Yes, I think the Palmer Junction is really good, I've compared it to many other similar devices, and I think it beats all of them. It's the closest you get to a miked amp sound, in my opinion.

  • Very emotional.

    Amazing!!

  • A really nice song!

Do you write text for your songs as well?

Du er kanondyktig, Ketil! Stå på :-)

  • Det hender, men jeg er nok bedre til å lage musikk enn tekster.. Tusen takk!

  • wow ... i wish i had a large enough vocabulary to describe it beyond great

    2 question

    1) ur son is ok right? *cross fingers*

    2) r u putting out CD's?

  • Thank you very much! 1) Yes, my son is doing just fine! 2) Well, I have played on a few cd's with different local bands and projects, but just cover songs and stuff, nothing of my own material. I've been thinking about making my own solo cd for about 25 years or so, but I haven't come round to it yet..

  • thats good, how old is he now?

well when you do make sure to drop me line, id love to have some of your songs

  • He's 21 (I feel old everytime I say that..). Thanks, I will!

  • oh haha, i thought he was younger than me (im 17) lol

  • Please do!!!

  • You Must go for you own material Today!

    That's really Amazing ! I'm Speechless!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Is that a Eastwood guitar shirt? Do you have any Eastwoods? You like them?

  • Hi i was just wondering how you got the boss fv-50L to not suck out as much tone as mine does

  • I don't know, I have never had that problem with any of mine (I got two). Are you using it the way it's intended? This is the low impedance model designed for use in the effects loop or for keyboards. If you want to hook up the volume pedal directly from your guitar and before your amp, you should use the Boss FV-50H (high impedance) model instead.

  • this piece is so beautiful...it sounds a bit sad but has the notes of hope in it - a masterpiece...Ketil would you mind sharing the notes ?

  • Thank you very much! Send me a private message with your e-mail address..

  • Beautiful. My goal in life is to play as good as you, Steve Vai, or Dave Weiner. Rock on.

  • Thank you, I'm flattered.. ;-)

  • exar cp04 compressor rules

  • ;-) Cool that someone else is using this pedal too, I guess it's not very common

  • U kno its Polish small brand, they are trying to conquer the world now :)

I got some reviews of not only the compressor - their modulations kix ass :)

    cheers dude

  • beautiful

  • : Ketil another fantastic track ( bit lost for words) i did notice Andreas has more hair than you come to think of it (me as well) well written as in a incubator =very fragile we had twins so i know what its like again fantastic track

  • Thank you very much! Yeah, I miss having hair.. ;-)

  • Absolutely beautiful...thanks for the "musician's detail" for all us home-studio geeks.

My own daughter was in NICU for 5 days after she was born, incubator and all - hoping Andreas is well?

This piece very gently reminds me of Shadowfax, but with more edge and movement - it's all you, no mistake.

  • Thank you very much! Yes, Andreas is doing just fine, he's 20 now.. Hope your daughter is doing fine, too, how old is she?

  • Wow, this was twenty years ago - the composition, at least? It sounds amazing and timeless to me, but it's what I like.

Thanks, Amanda is 2 1/2 and very healthy! Check out my channel for evidence. It is an amazing and fragile moment at first, isn't it? So much to focus on, and be "in charge of"...or just submit to the flow of the natural events, and trust...

    Keep making beautiful music!

  • Yeah, twenty years go pretty fast.. I watched one of your videos of your daughter Amanda, she is a beautiful little girl, you're very lucky! Thanks, and good luck with everything!

  • *favourites*

i wish you sold your stuff. cuz this is awesome. love the use of the trem towards the end! i cant get enough of this song !

  • very nice your song ! I like it. i want to make music with you! master.

  • your tone is great! what is your setup?

  • Thanks! Read "more info" for details..

  • Very nice piece of music! Reminds me of the early years of Dream Theater

  • I play the bass but the touch on the guitar you type ... I am inspired me to say a word "perfect" beautifulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • Ok, now I understood.. Thanks! ;-)

  • io suono il basso ma chi ha tocco su la chitarra tipo te mi fa incantare...mi viene da dire solo una parola "perfetto"

  • Thanks, but I don't understand Italian, so I hope this is a nice comment..? ;-)

  • Yeah!! it's very nice tone!! congratulations for You ;) Let's Play!!

  • That's a delicious Carvin if I've ever seen one!

  • Damn , man awesome melodic tune !!!

  • Musicians like you are very hard to find these days anyway how do u maintain so many guitars ?

  • Thanks! Well, I've bought my guitars over a period of 28 years, but I must admit now I've bought seven since 2005.. I suffer from G.A.S. (Guitar Aquisition Syndrome), what else can I say..

  • virkelig bra. kunne tenkt meg å høre deg spille noe knopfler, may eller gilmour.
