This is one great old track. But with one problem: have anyone tried to open it with dj mixing software? All vinyl rips and cd rips of the Encore Une Fois release have the same problem: the tempo is not constant. the programs can't detect the right tempo, even I couldn't do it manualy for a long time of tries.

@HardmasterMusic it's one of the unique things about the song that makes it great. The beat is "organic" and gives a pulsating feel. If you listen to it loud and just listen to the entire soundscape with an empty mind, you space out and enter a sort of trance.

The melody and beat is clean and simple enough to re-make fairly qickly with decent accuracy in FL or similar software.

@clubfun12 you are right about the beatmatching. The tempo is not constant (or it is but the patterns were not mixed propperly) I've tried to mix it with virtual DJ but I was dissapointed: it couldn't detect right tempo, even I could not do it manually. That's the only bad thing in this track.

@scooterdaz1 I'm the same, I never did like 99% of dance music, but then again, I'm from the sixties generation. However, some tracks stand out from their genre having reached a universal resonance, bridging the spans between genres.

Like Robert Miles' "Children", this is one of those tracks that transcend its genre. For me though there was a mix of this on the CD single which I really like, and I've never been able to find it again...I don't know which mix it is?

Has anyone ever tried using this track in a mix? It starts off at 134bpm and continuously rolls down to end at 131bpm!

Before anyone says I shouldn't rely on beat counters, this was back in the day when I used vinyl. Trust me, I was horrified when my mix went tits up!!!

It's really odd. The version I used was the UK (Multiply Records) 12", but it's the same story with the German (Mighty Records) cd single as well.

the Problem was that we used the Midiout of a simple Soundblaster

Audiocard to drive our Synths.

Every time when there was to many Notes at the same Time the speed
