sorry if im mistaken, but wasnt there an animated intro to this with a guy with weird haircut arriving with his droids or something, of was it some other game?
Ha! Thanks for this. I have been wanting to hear this again for years. Hired Guns was excellent and the music was easily the best I'd ever heard at the time (in a game).
One of the only gmes when I enjoyed long load times as I could hear the tunes.
It's still good actually - nice simple trancey stuff.
As for favorite games, the choice would be very difficult... But those would be in top50 definitely -> Benefactor, Cannon Fodder, Civilization, Colonization, Deluxe Galaga, Fury of the Furries, Jetstrike, Ultimate Soccer Manager, Lemmings 2, Moonstone, Mortal Kombat I/II, Monkey Island I/II, Pinball Fantasies, Pirates!, Red Baron, Rick Dangerous I/II, Sierra Soccer, Silent Service II, Stardust, SSFII TNC, Superfrog, Sword of Aragorn, Traps'n'Treasures, UFO Enemy Unknown, Vermeer, Worms, Yo! Joe!
@kad3t UFO was good and i played lemmings a lot too :) i think i completed one of the mokey island games and worms was probably the best multi player game also grilled connon fodder a lot, i remember trying to make jools and jops live forever lol
So did I (regarding CF) but I always failed in the process and felt as if I lost something more than just a character on screen. ^_^ As for UFO I play it to this day every two years or so I sit down and complete it as I find it to be utterly enjoyable experience each and every time. ^_^
The Amiga600 along with the ZX spectrum was my intro to gaming. Hired Guns was amazing. I think I'll have to rebuy it. Also am the only one who still thinks this music is amazing?!
I miss this era. These games were awesome and addictive. I had an amiga 2000 and then an amiga 500+. I'd love to own an amiga again I still own my favourite games.
Amiga's are dirt cheap these days! You can get one on eBay between 20-50 pounds depending on a model, accessories and games it comes with. I've seen A500 selling for a tenner plus fiver shipping... That's as much as most people spend on a lunch. ^_^ Or you can emulate, if you're into it... PM me if you do and can't wrap your mind around it with google. ^_^
I have to say I've never really played it (mainly cause I've seen lemmings on one of the screenshots in a gaming magazine back in the days) but I've never heard anything but good opinions about the game. Maybe I should get over my shooting lemmings prejudice and try it out eventually?
@kad3t lol - there were a few short "Action" games that had lemmings in as a kind of joke (as it was another DMA design game). The main campaign doesn't have any of our fury friends, so you can complete it with a clean conscience - although coincidentally, the primary objective is to nuke the whole place!
yeh your right he is, and captive was a good game too btw :) never managed to complete that tho..

@kad3t He arrived with his van and his droids came out of his van. I think it was Hired Guns. Or something similar to that.

@juggep80 The game you are thinking of is "Liberation - Captive 2" :)

Hmm... I agree that the music in Hired Guns is awesome but my no. 1 music track was and always will be opening theme from Pinball Fantasies.
