Greek food has a lot of good fats and less bad fats .Thats why the greek cuisine its so healthy.You should also know that the most longevity appears to greek people and especially to those who are from crete ,cause they use on a daily basis a lot of pure virgin olive oil(which is the king of oils).

when making this sort of salad I found it best to let it sit for a little before serving so the oil has a chance to blend and settle some, otherwise I found the oil taste too strong.

Great recipe, easy to make one of the healthiest salad of all! The Greek call it Horiatiki (country salad). And Fatfist is right, taking a piece of nice crispy bread and dunking it in the salad and olive oil - it's divine!

This is by far, the healthiest salad. It has the right proportions of necessary fats, vitamins, phytochemicas, and anti-oxidants. Remember, the saturated fat and cholesterol from the feta is GOOD for you and necessary for your body to transport and absorb vitamins. Trans-fat is what you should avoid.

SPECIAL TIP:

Take a piece of nice crispy bread and dunk it in the salad and olive oil, crushing a tomato and a piece of feta. You haven't tasted anything like this flavor combination!
