  • does anyone happen to have all the lyrics to this song?

  • Wot a flash from the past this song is - fantastic!

  • awesum song

  • @figbat1. Stop smoking crack.

  • find my 3 hidden comments..........press see all

  • i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for over 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone everywhere.

  • now this and "man overboard" are great f u c k i n g songs!

  • A guitar part and brass section that tickles more neurons than I ever thought I had.

A voice and face to die for, and a rhythym section to pin it all down.

Where did music like this go?

  • From the 1987 Happiest Place in Town album- Great band, great album, great track :)

  • I just love this song, I saw her at Captain Cooks Tavern one night with her band and they were Brilliant!!

  • There was a band called bughouse around the same time female singer also what ever happened to them?

  • Aus musics most beautiful mouth ever!!! ;-)

  • Profound pop! Love it! (and yes, Deb C was a babe).

  • this band is soooo cool!!!

  • God Debbie Conway was hot

  • She is stunningly beautiful

  • omg i so had a crush on her big time growing up

  • Saw them live once they were great

  • amazing voice!

  • The feeling u get listening to this song is kind of indescribable.....brings back memories of youth , nostalgia and doesn't she look absolutely terrific in this clip...she could easily have been a movie star....had those classic looks....maybe still does. I sau DoReMi live on a couple of occasions in the 80's and they had a unique and original sound , great songs and meaningful lyrics. The thinking persons Pop band. The 80's were'nt ready for a band like them.

  • shes gorgeous, great song so many memories

  • great song still sounds fresh today as it did all those years ago

  • @schuey7wc You are right all of those bands who were considered 'cutting edge' back in the day, now sound very dated. Do Re Mi still sound great. I hadn't heard Adultery in quite a while, it's good to hear it.

Youtube is the best freind of all ageing music fans.lol

  • Deborah Conway is in the old australian movie Running On Empty about street racing , this is still a song well ahead of its time, something someof these new wanna be's could sit down and listen to to hear what real music sounds like, just like jenny morris, will miley cyrus and her like be this timeless in years to come ? no fkn way !!

  • this comes from the album :happiest place in town' from around 1987. Its a great album, excellent aussie band, go Deborah Conway!!! Love aussie bands!!!

  • Loved this song, and the lyrics are about . . well, adultery . . it's hard to get the words but it would appear she has woken up at her girlfriends house. . . .

  • Ah, Deb Conway's voice...first saw these guys support Simple Minds way back then - and seen Ms Conway solo many times since

  • How good is this! Imagine how many current songs we will bother to comment on in 25 years?

  • I love this song for starters

But have a listen to what they really singing about : )

    Deborah Conway still is lovely

  • she's pretty in this

  • i saw them as a support act for paul young all those years ago

  • Great song. Apart from remiminding me of much seedier (but very fun) times in my life, it also reminds me of when it first came out. Such a shame they never really went far.

  • (((((( AWESOME 80'S ))))))

  • This is a great song.

  • She's still out there and still fantastic. Even without the powerful '80s shoulder pads! Oh ok, so I wore them too.....

  • Um, 20 years later, I think she's got the best voice of any Aussie singer ever... And I used to hate this band in my teens.... yikes!

  • Well it might have taken you 20 years but at least you've finally got it. She is brilliant.

  • Ella's gotta be right up there with her!

  • amazed at how few hits Do Re Mi have...beautiful song writing

  • Thanks Claude :)

  • Can anyone tell me where to get this song..have been looking everywhere and also the lyrics?

  • I looked on gemm (period) com, which is a worldwide database of music stores, but only found vinyl copies (7", 12" and LP) for this.

  • Hey mate...thanks for that. Yeah, it is really hard to find for some reason. Did you have any luck with the lyrics?

    Cheers.

  • Was this a B side song?? but I never thought I would ever hear this song Adultery Again.

This song has such kick ass History of my life and has upset some of my friends in the past... Gee her sholder pads so wide.

  • What the hell is the line after: Lying there and listening to you breathe? Something something something how-to-do-it magazines...

  • Dog-eared airport novels, how-to-it magazines

Noises of the ocean will remind me of scenes...

  • I thot it was...'nothing ever happens, how it do in magazines, noises of the ocean will remind me of these scenes.' But, yeah, it does sound like 'dog eared airport novels, how to do it magazines...

  • themussau: just wondering; do you have all of the lyrics for those of us unable to read lips? Please send them to me :)

  • very good question....sounds like 'doggett appacknaphells?'

    Any further suggestions listeners?

If you figure it out please let me know :)

    Loving the song though....

  • What the hell's an appacknaphell? LMAO

The lyrics are interesting when one listens to them, she sings about spending the night with some one & obviously questioning it in the morning as she looks around the room seeing things laying around, 80's posters on the wall etc

  • they're 'airport novels'....didn't you know that! ;)

    hehehe

  • oooooh! "dog eared airport novels"....lmao hahaha

  • I now have the Mp3... Yippee. Searched the planet for it I tell ya!

  • Ok, so I am new to this! How did you manage to get the mp3? I have and am still looking AND I CAN'T GET IT ANYWHERE! Please tell me your secret. Thanks

  • My God, Deborah was/is so hot!!! They were the best band back in the day, I wanna time machine just to go back for a few days.....please.....

  • my favourite song off all time brings back such great memories for me

  • God Deb could look fantastic when she was made up a bit,,,,, Georgous!!! So's Helen-GREAT Bassist!!!!! But Deb so often had BAD Hair days on TV etc & it all went beresk!! She looks SO nice in this clip- & can sing SO SO SO well!!!! GREAT SONG & CLIP- for '87!! ;-)

  • Helen Carter - the reason I started playing bass in 1987. Thanks for the career Helen :-)

  • me too! I was at so many of their shows in sydney back in the 80's..collected the song lists, drumsticks, etc etc.. i was a MAD fan. sooooo miss it.

  • Funny you mention that cause it was Do Re Mi member who got me interested in playing instruments as well, Except it was drums for me, cause of Dorland Bray.

  • Did you play the drums for MEO 245?

He kind of looks like Ray Romano, who I think, if you are who I think you are, looks like you, who looks like the drummer in MEO 245.

Just not sure if the timing/year is right tho...

  • No, timing's wrong. I'm too young to have been playing live in 1980. Plus I didn't go far with drums because I got given an old analog keyboard once and it's history from there. :)

  • Helen Carter steals the show on the sexy and talented front. As always.

  • Omigod.... That woz twenty years ago!! I loved this song.... Had it on a various artists tape... Hit's the girls... I think. God that sounds tragic... lol.. Ah well... hmm, might just listen one more time an' reminisce ; ) Shambolic's right about Debbie lookin' good in this vid... Looks nice.

  • was my fave song for years...

  • DoReMi & esp Deborah Conway were almost too clever for most of the listening public wiht their music - most of their stuff had good airplay on the JJJ network. She could really sing up a storm and the lyrics demand you to listen - far above the sloppy bop songs of then and now!

  • Ahh the 80's... what an incredible era for music. Does anyone know where one can download the mp3? Been looking for it everywhere, someone on the planet must have it!!! Can we download clips from here or what?

    Watchinu66, Perth, Western Australia

  • Thanks for putting this video up ...I loved this song and had been looking for it for ages. Now for an mp3 of it? Deborah Conway hasn't changed much over the last 20 years ...still looks great and sounds great.

  • shit were old!!

  • hear hear to all of you. it's so uplifting to hear comments from people worth having them.Try some Shriekback, early Talking Heads(77-81),Kate Bush.....

  • Such memories of Do Re Mo who were a really classy band. Ohh...and .Deborah Conway was , and is a great singer . Incidentally did she ever look more gorgeous then in this video? OK..OK....superficial comment I know. But it is also a reminder of a time when intelligent well crafted and adult pop music like this could be heard.

  • Awesome clip from an ever great singer. Deb Conway is such an awesome talent and I can't think of any female artist in Australian Music who has consistently release great music for such a long period. This is a fine example of her early achievements!!

  • Wow, been a long time since I heard this. Love to see the "Guns and Butter" video, guess I can hope.

  • Yay! I had "Celebrate '88" and this song was on it. I still remembered all the words! Whatever happened to "Warnings Moving Clockwise"? That was an awesone song.

  • I love Deborah Conway

  • I haven't seen this one for almost 20 years!!! Thanks for posting...

  • Wow, thanks... heard this song a couple of times in '87 then never again. Should have been a huge hit IMO.... good to hear it again!

    Lee

  • Shoulda been a hit..maybe it was too "controversial" for commercial airplay?
