  • Also, the EB motor in the F150 has different turbos than in other Ford cars. They are supplied by the company that makes the compressors for the Powerstroke.

  • @EatmyDust1311 actually the EcoBoost uses twin Garrett G15's in all applications (Taurus, F-150, Flex, MXT ect....). But you are right on one level and that is Garrett also has supplied turbos for the Powerstroke's since the 7.3. :)

  • @strumem90 The turbo for the F150 actually comes from Borg-Warner. Other Ecoboost turbos, as well as the Powerstroke turbos, come from Honeywell.

  • @EatmyDust1311 lol...might want to do some research buddy :) Garrett = Honeywell. The 3.5L V6 uses the G15's by Garrett/Honeywell. The 2.0L & 1.6L EcoBoosts use Borg Warner low inertia turbos....

  • @strumem90 I did research. Honeywell on Taurus/MKS/Flex, Borg-Warner on F150. That is for the 3.5 v6.

  • @EatmyDust1311 know what, your right, I apologize. Cheers!

  • Ford is making Ecoboost a brand that is known to everybody as powerful and fuel efficient- GTDI technology is going to be associated with Ford the way hybrid is associated with Prius. 99% of people dont want to sacrifice fuel economy for power, the rest want thier 6.2L Raptor with a blower on it and wouln't have it any other way. That is why they make 4 engines for the new F150.

  • When you know that 1 in 8 American soldiers killed in Iraq from 2003-2007 were protecting oil convoys, what is unamerican? Trucks dont have big engine to be fast, they have them so they are safe to drive with tonnes behind them. It is not about being the baddest urban cowboy, it is about getting the job done and EB would do it better than a v8 engine for most people.

  • @EatmyDust1311 You sir know what i am talking about.

  • toyota is my favorite automotive brand, but dam, Ford is starting to make some really good vehicles. i like =D

  • make a small diesel!! better fuel economy! and more torque!

  • V6's people, really, why the hell would you want a v6 the MPGs are almost the same for the v8 with better HP and LBs FT. i cant think of any DAMN reason to have two types of V6s available gimme the 7.2 (460ci) gas the old 7.3 diesel, the 5.8 and 5.0. Oh and maybe a small V6 for the people that just need a farm truck or dont want to drive one these $60,000 pussy SVU with 4WD THAT U CANT EVEN DRIVE OFF ROAD. WHAT HAPPEN TO REAL AMERICAN TRUCKS!

  • @kidkyle17 a 460 is 7.5 a dodge 440 is 7.2 and that 3.5 v6 makes more torque then the 5.0L and just 15 less then the 6.2L, but yes I do agree new trucks suck assholes, i'll take a new 1985 f150 with a 5.8

  • @kidkyle17 Getting slightly-better than 5.0 fuel economy with a engine that makes 420 lb-ft FROM 2500 all the way to 5000 rpm is why people choose ecoboost. No v8 makes that much torque at that low an rpm, or has that wide a torque band. With a naturally aspirated motor, you need it to rev high to make power, but as soon as the small turbos spool up you get instant torque.

  • @EatmyDust1311 I still believe in a good old American V8 no matter what if u ask me it is BORDERLINF UNAMERICAN!!! to have a F-150 with or 6 cylinders the V8s in the line up

  • @kidkyle17 America is a nation built on innovation, and since trucks need to get better fuel economy Ecoboost is the best way to do that without giving up power. If anything is unamerican, it is pretending you need a v8 to have a American truck. The Toyota Tundra has a v8 but no turbo v6 so tell me, what is more American? The 5.0L engine has DOHC and Ti-VCT, is that unamerican? The 6.2L tows the same as the EB but gets 14 mpg highway.

  • @EatmyDust1311 while i agree with you i don't see how that is relevant in this case yeah the 6's and what not eco bull makes better number and what not but nothing significant!! every single number whether it is MPG ,HP or w/e it is nothing more then a gimmick PT .1

  • @kidkyle17 The Eco's number is significant when you consider it makes almost as much power as the 6.2L, and that motor gets horrible mileage compared to the 5.0L. Plus unlike the GM hybrid trucks, the EB has high tow/haul rating and the fuel saving will pay for itself in the life of the truck. and its not all about the environment- Ford knows they have tough FE standards to meet in the future, so they have to get ahead of the competition by doing this.

  • @EatmyDust1311 only further evidence of the pusafication that is taking over this country Starbucks coffee and green save the world and environment is crap doesn't belong in a working man truck.

  • @kidkyle17 Most working men probably wont have an EB. They will take a 5.0 or a base 3.7 work truck. The EB is targeted at consumer truck buyers, the people that like the utility but dont really need a 1/2 ton truck. Environmentals dont drive trucks, and ford isnt taking this huge a risk on thier cash cow for no reason. Drive an Ecoboost truck and tell me what you think.

  • @EatmyDust1311 from a money making stand point i think ford in genius and you did remind of the Utility/SUV people that dont need a half ton ton truck. having said all that i guss im just a old school guy that is having a hard time catching on to all this new high tech crap haha well the high tech cars and trucks at least

  • @kidkyle17 Im not sure if you dislike the fact its turbocharged, forced induction, or just a 6 cylinder. The old Lightnings had superchargers when Ford could have used thier v10, but they chose to blow the 5.4L. If the EB was supercharged would you like it more?

  • @EatmyDust1311 i guess all the v6's one good old 6 is all u need if it were me one 6 a small 8 a medium sized 8 and a 460 big block for the raptors which i guess they kinda have im not a big fan of forced induction but nothing against it

  • @kidkyle17 Many Raptor owners are asking for a EB option to extend thier offroad range. I know of one Raptor with the 3.5 swapped into it. At high altitude it will pay dividends, because the turbo motor won't lose nearly as much power as the NA one. Same with the Cummins I6 turbo deisel, and all deisel engines. The EB supposedly pulls like a deisel, because it uses the same technology to make power- not just the turbos.

  • @EatmyDust1311 well time will tell

  • Comment removed

  • Superchips is claiming a 37.7 whp gain, and 22.6 lb ft, with the 91 octane performance tune for the base 3.7L V-6.

  • screw the 305 horsepower 3.7 liter and screw the 5.0 liter V8. the 3.5 liter turbo'd v6 is what i want. this motor i think came from the Taurus SHO

  • @timforsyth89

    You're right. Poor mans F-150 lightning. ;)

  • my 08 F150 5.4L V8 is awesome, but I want an ecoboost soon

  • Yep in about five years that 5.0 will be like $450 @ a bone yard. and it has everything the ford gt engine had less the displacement

  • Ecoboost v6 is best! Chip it and bolt ons will make it wake up alot

  • WTF! they have the Select Shift manual mode ?!!! and not the Mustang? what the hell!

  • the ecoboost is nice but if i were to get a new f150 i'd just spring for the 5.0, has more hp and the same tq as the 5.4. i'd really want the 6.2 but i think its shitty you can only get the 6.2 in the high end trucks.

  • those are 7 spoke wheels..not 5

  • such ugly trucks

  • @PkerMechanic ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • I just got a 2011 F-150 5.0L FX4 Supercab...Wouldn't have had it any other way.

  • 3.5L v6 turbo with 365hp/420tq great job Ford.

who needs the v8 with less power and torque, and economy.

  • @GOBbluthagain Imagine a turbo v8. :0 although the V6 is good enough.

  • im pretty sure the best engine for the f150 is the ecoboost, however i will always choose the 6.2 :)

  • @DevPack That makes you sound so retarded

  • SuX so much on gas. Hate the boxy like headlights and grill. otherwise not that bad.

  • @MrVnick1

    I average 25 mpg on a 2011 regular cab V6 for work. For a full-size pick-up, I wouldn't say that it's bad on gas.

  • apparently "they're coo with it" hahahaha

  • A V6 that can pull 11,300 lbs?! o.O

  • @chevystud88 ...& 22 mpg

  • Depending on the trim where the 5.0L is the base engine, the Ecoboost engine will only be a $750 upgrade which is sweet.

  • I want this truck soooo back!!!! Ill take mine as a supercrew xlt, white, with the ecoboost engine!!!

  • First!!!1!! Lol sorry jk nice truck
