Orthodoxy is part of the problem of why we have low birth rate. I know Orthodoxy claims otherwise but they are full of it because if Orthodoxy reproducing at higher rates they would become a higher percent of Jews as a whole and that isn't happening. Go to the top it says "indicates that the group declines to make membership figures public. Only group to do this. So I have to believe our numbers are low if the Orthodox did not want to release them.

I want to private Orthodox Jewish school myself. So did my sister. So did many of my friends. Some of them are unmarried and have a birth rate of zero. I guess they weren't included in the study since it works backwards starting with those who have kids in Yeshiva excludes those who are unmarried.

In fact recently it was read in the Parsha in the beginning of Bamidbar about a census of all men 20 years and older who serve in the legion based on Exodus 30:11 which mentions if you do a census for male over 20 and over each of those men have to give a half a shekel because it is a "necesary evil". The Orthodox don't want to release their numbers to the encyclopedia because it will make them look bad not because of modesty.

Part 2: Of course Rabbi Kahane's main support was those that in the time of the founding fathers would not have been able to vote. Those are young people who still live at home. So if anything Kahane is more about democracy then Jefferson ever was. Why Kahane hated Jefferson I have no idea.
