Here in the U.S. those hard panelled dresses represent championship dancers. My eight year old daughter has entered her first feis this month in hopes to earn the right to wear one of those dresses. A feis is an irish competition including music, baking and dancing! If she earns the right to wear that type of dress they are custom tailored and very expensive!
