cool video ,i did this back home ,,it was an american idea ,bomanite ,the only thing is lads you should be using a tamper to tamp the mats ,found it better to get the sharpness of the joints to make them look real ,,also you dont get any patches where the patterns not as deep ,herringbone/cobble patterns look better with mats,,just my opinion ,also geezer when your throw on your colour dont throw down ,,throw across,,same with the realeasing agent ,,,glad to see this on here well done ,giz a job
I have been to 3 worlds fairs and 2 all nigger rodeos but I have never seen someone level concrete with a muck stick. Guess the magnesium screed rod hasnt been discovered yet over in the UK.
When u post a video about any of the trades you get other tradesman viewing it with a critical eye. I think the finished product looks nice. For the sake of those learning: this driveway will almost certainly develop surface problems due to all the water seen troweled into the finish. All bleed water must be evaporated from the surface after bull floating and before final finishing precedes otherwise the water cement ratio on the surface (critical area) becomes severely disproportionate.
It looks very nice, but no re-enforcement mesh ??? that is surprising. I am Australian, and let me say mesh is required here for any sort of concrete driveway, but not needed for walkways.
Not good!!! Post the video when you tear it out.
