I have the same knee problem as him... its basically a career ending injury somewhat...my knee pops out very easily... surgery only does so little the best thing to do is work out your legs and build more muscle around the knee/legs... your limited activities etc.. it totally sucks... i hurt mine playing basketball and had to pretty much give it up so i turned to bboying and its still brutal... knee braces make the leg weaker

@sigalig I tore my ACL 11 years ago and had it finally fixed two years ago. I just started skating again this year at 34 years old. If you do the rehab you will be fine. That was the most important part of my recovery. It's all about the rehab.

If you don't have medical insurance, please don't skateboard. It only takes a second to end up in the hospital with a serious injury. If you dont have the proper insurance, you are fucked my friend! A buddy of mine dislocated his right shoulder while skating. He had no insurance and his shoulder ended up healing wrong because he never got it set back into place by a proper doctor.

I can feel Mike Yorks pain. I also tore my ACL (Anterior cruciate ligament) about one year ago while skateboarding. After I had the surgery, it took me almost a year to get back to normal (skate wise), plus the physical therapy I endured was extremely rough. The knee brace Mike York has there costs about 1 grand in order to buy. I was fitted for one and never used it.
