  • Damn, that was a long time no hear!

    Love it!

  • Thank you

  • Sun God- DJ Hi-tek ft Common and Vinjia Mojica

  • i'm open-minded like a pothead

  • on the first notic mixtape!

  • RA the original "sun" of god

  • ashur

  • Welcome back Rae a.k.a. The Sun God

  • Commonnnnnnnn-in-in-in-in-in-in-in-in-in-in-in...

    KAH-munnnnnnn

  • Fuck Khaled, Scott Storch and other wack producers.....Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, Premo, 9th Wonder, Dj Muggz, Alchemist...this are my fav

  • @Graail7 i agree with you 100% I hate what is on the radio. We need true hip hoppers to take our shit back!

  • @cobracongo Either that or the new school needs to mature and have some life experiences and share their knowledge through their rhymes. They rap like "Elmer Fudd going to hunt for Buggs Bunny" very stupidly. lol

  • @Boogers4dinner Agreed, but the problem is the record companies they want rappers to talk about dumb mundane things like sex, money and drugs. I highly doubt you will see another Public Enemy or Brand Nubian. Jay Electronica is a smart person and conscious he signed with Jay Z, so let's see how the common public receives him. Peace booger

  • @Graail7 top three is Premiere, Jay Dee and Pete Rock.

  • @TheSinghFIRE........You have to make room for The RZA and Dr. Dre in the top 3 somewhere! And Havoc from Mobb Deep in the top 10! Then start list around that.

  • @F4billionyearzag0 RZA wasn't the same after Liquid Swords, maybe your right about Dre, but same with Havoc after 1997 dude went down hill. Prem has been consistently dope since 1987, Pete Rock almost the same (he influenced my style) and Jay Dee is Jay Dee- probably the most musical and dope hiphop/neo-soul producer of our generation.

  • @TheSinghFIRE Rza fell off after Liquid swords? are you serious? Lmao.

  • @Damian2354 yep he did. so your saying that he made beats which were better than the stuff he did the wu's first album, rae's and GZA. I think not, GZA's album was unbelievably crazy. the rhymes and the beats were something reminiscent of illmatic. after that, maybe not. its your opinion thinking that about havoc, dre (even though ur probs right and RZA. but its in my opinion that they can't touch premiere, dilla and pete.

  • @TheSinghFIRE.........You buggin sunn! RZA iz still producing heat to this day! U must've not heard Ironman? Wu-Tang 4ever<----one of the best produced albums of all time! RZA went in his fawkin bag on that album! Bobby Digital In Stereo<---RZA killed the beats on there! Itz some ill producers out there! But Pound for pound when it really comes down to it not too many dudes can see The RZA! Especially when he goes deep in his bag!

  • It features Vinia Mojica also.....

  • old school is a lot better than new school

  • @gamingacro ummm no shit??

  • @gamingacro Every school is as good as the collective artists participating and what tastes they make their records with.

  • I thought 2001 was a rather dry year for Hip Hop..There was some good underground, but nothing really grabbed me. Hi-Tek's album stood out though.

  • @Division1985 oh yah chronic was leaked at 99.

  • @Division1985 The Blueprint, The Cold Vein, Labor Days... None of those insanely dope albums grabbed you?

  • @MortenTheMartian The Blueprint was...alright.

  • @Division1985 lol. If you're actually serious about that statement I'll have to discount your opinion towards music.

  • @Division1985 alright????? man the blueprint changed the game it was classic

  • no doubt!

  • I used to listen to this song A LOT when it came out, I loved the beat and loved common...but wth is Common rapping about???

I cant find any relation between the title of the song (egypt, pyramids, nwo etc etc) and the Lyrics....so wth common??? btw I find that happens a lot with common (ranrom lyrics)

This beat still sounds good though....I just went from Jay Dee > Dela > Freddie Joachim > Exile > Theory Hazit > Vintage > and finally Hi-Tek, found this gem

  • @Crazytaru1 Realise we are all one! ;)

  • Thank you... yeah you!!

  • "...and the Scientist still cant explain the pyramids" THE SUN GODS. Know what I'm sayin'?

  • This is dope, too bad common sense sold out and is all hollywood now, knowhatimsayin?

  • guys honestly...I'm sick of this "golden years" bullshit! Do u luv hip hop or not?! Man i luv that shit for real! No doubt it's harder to find the good stuff despite the internet shit! But i luv the shit from the 80's, the 90's and nowadays! Luv it, don't hate it, just because it sounds different from what you're used to!

  • thats probably one of the best songs ever produced in the history of hip hop...

  • I forgot all about this song...this put me in a good mood.

  • Peace GOD this metaphysical joint still goin over niggaz heads... but yu gotta admit this Common and the new Common is like two different niGgaz... If yu ask me, I think somebody went hollywood and sold out...

  • "the world is bitter...like baby mothers" real hip hop....common been sick

  • Great beat and sick lyrics, we need this kinda hip hop to make it back into the mainstream

  • Look how far El Dorado's and wine bottles drug us, at least God and the Sun/Son love us.... CLASSIC.

  • Common PLEASE stay on the intellectual/uplifting/spiritual tip!

No more bullshit! Make em all like THIS!

  • /watch?v=4JU9eYsCIrE this is dope

  • The following statement is cliché but... This is thy "Real" Hip-Hop, BITCH!!!

  • <3!!!!

  • REAL HIP-HOP !!

  • Anyone want to play basketball right now? When I hear this beat, I feel like being on some Magic Johnson shit. Mind boggling assists. LOL Matter of fact I think I will listen to this and play some Magic Johnson highlights on DVD. LOL I'm sure it will go perfect with Magic's passes.

  • damn hi-tek is ill on the beats

  • classic bitch...

  • hi-tek u wrong for this one...smh

  • Golden Era of Hip Hop...miss this shit

  • @xMPCxx Golden Era??? are you, like 19? anybody who knows anything about hip hop knows that common ain't got shit to do with the golden era of anything. the golden era ENDED in the early 90's. what you want to call the golden era is nothing more than the gilded decline of hip hop. outside of the die hard underground, hip hop is all bling and no thing.

  • @MeesterChum sorry to burst your bubble bro but 90's hip hop will forever be the greatest hip hop era.

  • @SW4TR3PP1N hahah yeah, the greatest in terms of producing total media sell outs.

  • @MeesterChum no that's 2000's. 90's has legends my dude. Dont get me wrong i love De La, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Run DMC, etc but you cant deny greats like Pac, Biggy, Pun, Big L, and many others. Plus not to mention underground legends like a tribe called quest, pharcyde, j dilla, etc.

  • @SW4TR3PP1N ok you win on some of those(ima big dilla fan). i got a feeling we can do this for days, but no war of attrition here, man, cause you can make your point without the typical youtube b.s. . . seriously, tho, the roots as jimmy falon's house band??? wtf do you think about that shit?

  • @MeesterChum I love the Roots, illadelph halflife is my fav album lol but I think the Roots are better than just a house band. I mean dont get me wrong it seems like they're enjoying it but I think they are better than that. But Im glad they finally released their new album! Its dope.

  • @xMPCxx 2001 wernt golden kid, damn you know nuthing, golden years 87-99

  • @EazZiB so you tellin me that this song doesn't belong to in the realm of that golden era sound? and though hip hop golden era is characterized by 80s n 90s music this was still part of that in my opinion...hip hop is hip hop...please don't reply cause i never asked for you opinion in the 1st place...thank you

  • @xMPCxx

lololololololol hit a nerve did we. not an opinion a fact, dont reply kid cause im not an emo. lololol shhhhh.....

  • @xMPCxx seriously :/

  • this is one of the only perfect songs i've ever heard

  • and black milk don't forget him!!!

  • cant forget black milk! and the nigga 9th too!

  • Black milk and 9th are incredible.

  • Hi-Tek / Pete Rock / Madlib / Dilla / DJ Premiere....."Dream Team".

  • shit! Hi-tek and common! just explosive..

  • i never heard this song. this beat is crazy and common is good too. hi-tek is defenitly one of the best producers in the rapgame. real shit.

  • such a tune!

  • some say the gods is crazy, i see god in our babies, child of the sun, i allowed it to raise me, from a distance niggas tried to appraise me, im hard to read like graffiti so it dont faze me.

and you say he didnt come as good as he should. get out of here.

  • you giving that dude thumbs down just because he wrote some in german? tzzzz..5* for common and hi-tek by the way
