i think the plant died because the sunflower was either diseased, or the soil wasnt suited fot that mature of a sunflower, or that the soil got too dry. good job though
That's cool. I started my skyscraper sunflower in a giant pot and plan to keep in there for the rest of its life. I first planted it in around two inch soil and it sprouted and is about three inches now.
I can tell you are not watering it enough; and there is not enough sunlight. If the stalk is brown, there is a shortage of clorophyll, which is used to perform the process of photosynthesis. If the stalk and leaves are "tipping over", there is a shortage of water.
oh so i must cry because a plant out of 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 other plants died !
Watching it in time lapse gives an animal-like quality to the plant, which elicits an emotional connection with the viewer - as one would "care" for a fictional character watched on the television.
It's movements reminded me of a dancer's.
I was surprised that video footage of a plant could elicit this kindof emotional response in the viewer - thus my original "what the hell" comment.
YOUR comment implies that this is OUTSIDE the range of normal human emotion. You are quite simply: wrong.
Red thumb aside, that was a beautiful video. I love the interesting angles and dynamic motion of the pot, as well as the fact that you didn't stay in a single spot throughout its growth.
It died because it didnt have enough root space to grow probably. The pot wasn't big enough but it's easy to change pots. It chokes after a while, then dies.
I liked the way you had the little pot circling. Showed how sunflowers grow and try to face the light.
At maturity, the flowers follow the sun all day. Mine are 9 feet tall and about to flower, but only have a few pics. Maybe next year I'll do a full timelapse from seed to death.
It's a dwarf sunflower. It grows to 7".

Yeah, that was fun watching you kill your plant. They require space for the roots to expand and sunlight. A bloom is the result of a healthy life.

the growth of sunflower is undergoing mitosis

stop rotating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! }:(

The reason it withered was because it did not have sunlight.

It's moving like that because the pot is rotating and they grow towards light
