Alot of albanian tribes were byzantine too it wasnt just greeks, a few of them became emperors. arvanites in greece for example are byzantinized albanians. @0shushunja0 It matters a lot who Skanderbeg was, I think that a nation can & should know who their national hero was. His origin and life proove the bond between Rhōmania and the Albanians. Skanderbeg followed Roman traditions & methods in a lot of thing (legislation etc) and his family had the Roman double-headed eagle as symbol (which is also painted behind his weapons in the museum of Kruja).
It's no about stealing (as RomiosHellas said) but about self-consciousness and historical memory.

@POTIS1 I dont know about that, I'm rather convinced that his father may be a serb because one of his ancestors (great grandfather I think) was named Branilo, a Serb name. But I would find the Greek Epirotan thing more acceptable and accurate than him as 100% Albanian. I think they call him Albanian because there were Albanians in his army, but there were Greeks and Serbs in his military too.

Τhe Hymn is called "SOSON KYRIE TON LAWON SOU" that means "Save O Lord Thy People" I think hymns of similar wording must exist in the slavonic & romanian doxology too! It is sung in orthodox liturgy in days of important festivities like Eastern.

οσο για τους πελασγους, ΒΛΑΚΑ, οι πελασγοι ηταν Ελληνες. η μαλλον για να το πω πιο σωστα, οι Ελληνες ηταν πελασγοι.
το ονομα πελασγος ειναι Ελληνικο καταρχην. οι Ελληνες δεν ηρθαμε απο πουθενα. ειμαστε αυτοχθονες.γιαυτο οι ρωμαιοι μας ονομασαν γραικους! γραικος στα Ελληνικα, βλακα αλβανε

καταλαβες? πελασγοι ημασταν και εμεις και πιθανον και οι Ιλλυριοι. το αν οι σημερινοι αλβανοι ειναι ιλλυριοι ή οχι, αυτο ειναι αλλο θεμα. παντως οι πελασγοι ηταν Ελληνες. ηταν οι πρωτο-Ελληνες

ξερεις οτι τους εβραιους τους ειχαμε δουλους εμεις για εκατονταδες χρονια? και μερικους απο αυτους τους ειχαμε εξελληνισει. και πολλα απο τα δικα μας ονοματα τα πηραν αυτοι και τα μετετρεψαν σε "εβραικα".

ακομα ερθει στα βαλκανια. γιατι πολυ απλα δεν τους ειχαν φερει ακομα οι κωλοτουρκοι. γιατι ακομα και αυτοι δεν ειχαν ακομα εμφανιστει στην βαλκανικη χερσονησο...
οσο για τους Ιλλυριους, με τους οποιους ελαχιστη σχεση (ισως) εχεις, καταρχην ηταν ενα πελασγικο φυλο, αρα συγγενεις με τους Ελληνες. κατα δευτερον, την εποχη του βυζαντιου, οι νοτιοι Ιλλυριοι, αυτοι που κατοικουσαν δηλαδη στην σημερινη κεντρικη αλβανια, ειχαν εξελληνιστει και γλωσικα και δεν ειχαν ονοματα οπως το gjon

τριτον, η μανα του ηταν η σερβιδα αρχοντισα vojsava απο την Αχριδα.
τεταρτον, ετσι για να μαθαινεις και λιγο, η λισαβωνα αχρηστε αλβανε κουραδομαγγα, υδριθηκε απο τον οδυσσεα, γιαυτο και ονομαζεται OLYSABON απο το OLYSSES που στα λατινικα σημαινει οδυσσεας.
αντε σκασε και πιπονε τωρα που θες και καστριωτη.
το ονομα γεωργιος ειναι Ελληνικοτατο. το ονομα georgi δεν υπαρχει. ειναι σλαβογενης παραφθορα του γεωργι(ος). καταλαβες παπαρα? ουτε καν αυτο δεν ξερεις, οτι ειναι σλαβικο. βλακακακο

@valeagathon kastrioti was born byzantine orthodox. He defected from the ottoman army to fight in the epiros region against muslim ottomans, albanians were mostly orthodox at the time

@valeagathon No i dont think he was roman. But as a child he was taken as a janissari which was most common among orthodox children. Alot of albanian tribes were byzantine too it wasnt just greeks, a few of them became emperors. arvanites in greece for example are byzantinized albanians. The only thing im sure of is that the flag he flew had a byzantine crest^^, like it or not that is the origin of the albanian flag

@0shushunja0 It matters a lot who Skanderbeg was, I think that a nation can & should know who their national hero was. His origin and life proove the bond between Rhōmania and the Albanians. Skanderbeg followed Roman traditions & methods in a lot of thing (legislation etc) and his family had the Roman double-headed eagle as symbol (which is also painted behind his weapons in the museum of Kruja).
It's no about stealing (as RomiosHellas said) but about self-consciousness and historical memory.
