I was missing her and wanted to make sure she was actually in a better place. There were no messages on our answering machine. I was home by myself all day and the phone never rang once. There were no new callers on our caller ID. But there was a message on there when my dad came home that night. It said, "I'm OK." I knew it was my grandmother. It freaked me out at first, but I felt at ease immediately afterwards. She was safe.

The voice sounds too old for a baby, and although the noises are similar to cat noises, it doesn't have the right tone, or resonance. These could be artifacts of being recorded on an answering machine... but it sounds more like a grown person, whining or moaning. At one point, it sounds a little like it's saying "help", but it's too indistinct to be sure.
