  • I think I'll play this on my Saturday morning radio show, small though it is. I play the golden oldies that the other stations have forgotten on 'The Golden Years' on Peterborough fm Saturdays at 10am. Like I say - I think I'll play this.

  • Haha. I'm 15 and i enjoy ALL of the older songs. i strongly believe that the new songs are terrible and nothing compared to these! This song in particular is my and my girlfriend's song! haha

  • And now more then 30 years later, she (Katie Kissoon) is well known by Eric Clapton .... She is always wonderfull .... at night !!!

  • So fresh, makes my heart skip a beat. 1970s soul at its sweetest.

  • Please someone turn the clock back for me.!!! Those were happy days

  • They are Brother & Sister. Katie is an established session singer, regualry seen with Eric Clapton's band, Robbie Williams etc. With Tessa Niles, also a backing singer.

  • @algienow Not to forget: Roger Waters!!

  • OMGoodness this is so sweet!!! BUt where was I when this was released!! Never heard it before....But I love it!! THEY WERE CUTE!!! WHO ARE THEY!!!! ANYONE?

  • @nva55 yes i second that brilliant time lots of memories

  • @nva55 Ha ha so would I, magic days eh?

  • Yeah, there are no bands or duos like this today - its all a b##### noise!!

Some fantastic sounds in the 70s. Personally i think it peaked about 1975 then started slipping but that's just my opinion!

  • @Jolliffesguy It went downhill when the Punk scene bagan in 1976.

  • its great to listen to music with other people who really appreiciate it,love this and butterfly, bring back memories of the 70s.

  • Golden years indeed, I had my first romance when this song came out, it didn't last but listening to it now brings tears to my eyes, great days and fantastic music, I feel sorry for the youth of today, what rubbish they have to listen to.

  • OMG!!! fantastic memories, brings tears to my eyes... We SANG SANG SANG this song together. How innocent we were then. Wish you were here today my friend up in heaven. xxxxxxx

  • love tiz song, bring back the old times

  • Although this is a fabulous song unlike 64Debs I reckon the 60's was the best decade

for music. I lived through it as a teenager and I am not sure that we will ever see the likes of Dave Clarke etc again.

  • Brilliant song from the 70s, they just don't make them like this anymore. The 70s was the best decade for great songs, i will always look back on the 70s with fab memories. Thanks for posting this.

  • As far as i can remember , I bought my Mom "The two of Us " album and wrote in the top left hand corner To Mom from Roland Merry Christmas 1976 . That was the first gift I could ever remember buying my Mom .I was 11 years old payed $1.00 for the album in Toronto. Well my Mom passed 6 months ago and I have the album now. I still play it and think of her ..my Mom must have played it a million times ..gosh I miss her.

    thanks ...cheers and Bless ..Roland

  • Seventies were great!

  • reminds me of being 17 again ,one of the best 70s love songs ever ,thanks

  • my favourite song of all time

  • Love this song, brings back happy memories of the wonderful 70s!

  • @MINEHEAD1000 i agree you cant beat the 70s music its all crap now i too wish i could turn back the hands of time :)

  • I feel so nostalgic!! fantastic memories

  • I've never heard of these two before, but I certainly enjoyed this music. Are they from the UK? I was a 70's kid and never heard of them here in the USA. Too bad they are great!!!!!!!

  • @brobenz - Both from the W. Indies (Trinidad I Think) but were raised in the UK. They were a brother and sister act and are still performing today- although seperately. Katie Kissoon does mainly backing for the likes of Van Morrison, Elton John and many others. Last I heard Mac Kissoon was part of the James Last Orchestra in Germany.

  • LOL...Look at that fro. LMAO!!!!

  • JESUS this is so nostalgic!!!!!!

  • This is fucking great! I hate modern popular music!

  • I watched these at west runton pavillion in norfolk when i was about 11 and stood right in front of them...she kept smiling at me and i was made up! lol

  • Saw them in Leicester, great night, recall seeing Mac on his own at Derby baileys sometime later, thought he was good and he worked so hard that night to get the audience on his side.

    Loads of respect.

  • quem diria essa mina foi cantar com a banda do roger waters do P.F.

  • love this song

  • No wonder that for Pink Floyd at the height of their success from the mid-70s (and later, with Roger Waters' solo career) , Katie Kissoon was their top backing singer for both recording and live. Her pitch and quality is exquisite.

  • Who knew she would go on to be one of Robbie Williams backing singers

  • @klang62 Think she was one of the backing singers for Eric Clapton too (Unplugged)

  • How amazing were the 70's? Such a fun time with great music. Why is everything so serious now? Bring the good times back!

  • @SuperDisco1970 The 70s were fun because we were kids and had no pressures..i think we run the risk of seeing through rose coloured glasses but i agree, id go back in a heartbeat !

  • @SuperDisco1970 Yes! Today it's like, get a group of lads together as a group and see how they can thrash their guitars!!! Reasult - a damn awful racket !!

  • Gotta love this!

  • So geat!

  • Great song,love it!

  • miss the 70's ,they were happy days, when we had a community ,then margaret thatcher came along and destroyed the social fabric of the country :(

  • Oh such happy days.. can we all go back in time x

  • Wow wat mwmories this brings back, an ere gone forever :( this was one of the big hits in the Disco;s , to be a teenager back in thr 70;s was the ultimate, man thanks for posting this

  • It's so sickly sweet compared to the hits we have today - but so gentle

  • i just love this song; great memories of the 70's

  • Sehr sehr schönes Lied!

  • Saw Mac and Katie in 1975 in Margate when this was in the charts. They happily met the fans after show. A truly luvly and genuine couple who obviously enjoyed performing and meeting us .Both had such infectious personalities and smiles and so unassuming. This photo sums them both up

Unlike the boring stereotype X-Factor crap we get nowadays, who only do as they are told,Mac and katie typified not only the music of the day but a whole different lifesytle and culture that alas has gone forever

  • this is one of the best 70's song.. almost makes me cry..

  • Katie's got a lovely voice - full and expressive. She was the No.1 backing singer for late 70s Pink Floyd and for Roger Waters when he went solo and her accompaniments showed how she makes an average lead voice sound so much better w/o swamping it. Even in this simple pop tune you can har how good she is.

  • "Ooooh you struck me off my feet!!

    my heart missed a beat"
