  • I love this song. I get a Supertramp/Zeppelin/Wings vibe, and yet it has an original, fresh sound. Great band!

  • Nearly Seventy-One thousand views ... So terrible for such a song with high caliber.

  • This is a cool video. The song's lyrics and rhythm is so nice to listen to. The vocalist's voice also is so unique. Kudos!

  • I don't understand why this song isn't in everybody's life ever.

  • There's a band that reminds me a lot of The Fruit Bats called Green Plastic Whistle on SoundCloud. AND they have 2 albums to download for free! Got to love free music!

  • First heard this on Tap Tap Revenge. (And I liked it. S'why I'm here.)

  • This is a good song, but I'll be damned if that chorus chord progression doesn't sound almost exactly like Forever my Friend by Ray LaMontagne. Most likely coincidence

  • My uncle filled in for the fruit bats on tour once

  • 0:32 Jon Lajoie

  • The girl at 1:10 looks like a guy

  • he has a goofy voice

  • 90210 has the raddest music for a sub par show

  • Stoner music definitely.

  • I found this on tap tap revenge and fell IN LOVE. Not to mention got a hundred. (:

  • cracking tune but why is it bein compared to zep and the beatles!? im english and love both and it sounds not much like em at all... maybe a tad zep III in places. nice tho. liking anythin like this.

  • @reidzappa the guitar reminds me a bit of black mountain slide

  • Perfect arrangement!

    Awesome voice!

    Great lyrics!

What more could you ask for?

Definitely one of the GOOD SONGS from the album!! :)

  • If The Beatles and Led Zeppelin ever had a child, this would be it.

  • i love this song when im high

  • I love this song, the tune is amazing. ♥

  • first heard this on tap tap revolution

  • @BlushingBull me 2 man hhahaah

  • @xswiftproductions I thought I was the only person to be up on youtube till the a.m hours.

  • This is excellent!

  • sweet song...

  • dope

  • You'll always eat bread if you always have seeds to sow

LIke old Zen Ben who lived with a murder of crows

He wore a crown of beans

    And a belt of weeds

Slept alone in the warm wet fields on a bed of mustard seed

You won't lose the beat if you just keep clapping your hands

Like sweet sweet Pete who clapped for the Ruminant Band

    He had a broken lung

    And a bit-off tongue

Lived alone in the warm wet fields under moon and sun

  • You'll always have smokes if you always give buckets of love

Like little sad Tad who was living on beetles and grubs

    He had a blue-eyed merle

    and loved an Indian girl

Lived alone in the warm wet fields in this corner of the world

  • super buenisimos

  • This is amazing. Where are these guys from? That guitar is just beautiful. So Allman Brothers on top of original voice. Reminds me of the Ghost Tongue. Anyobe ever hear them?

  • @KimatSubPop These guys have me totally excited!!! WHAT a beautiful voice!!!

  • get behind this band. they deserve it.

  • I can't believe how hard it is to find lyrics for this. Two local stations play this pretty frequently and I have it stuck in my head. Still can't figure out the lyrics. My ears aren't what they used to be.

  • "... like sweet Saint Pete when he clapped for the ruminant band, he had a broken lung, and a bit off tongue, let them know of the wants and needs of the moon and of the sun."

  • Lyrics, anone? I've looked around and can't find anything.

  • Yep, Robert Plant indeed: "He had a blue-eyed merl and an Indian girl..." The merl is the dog, Strider, Plant sang about in "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp," and the "Indian girl" was his first wife, Maureen. Great Fruit Bats song -- the guitar reminds me big time of classic '70s era Allman Brothers. These guys, like the Shins, got it goin' on!

  • Anyone have lyrics for this? In the first verse it sounds like he's singing about Robert Plant..

  • So very nice. Video works well with song. Here bits of old Neil Young in there, and not just the vocals.

  • well that was cool.

  • Epic characters, epic setting! The lyrics are also pretty un-pass-up-able.

    Loves it. :)

  • Omg, Love it :DD

  • This is the reason i subscribed to subpop. because sometimes magic happens.

  • Kind of reminds me of the Shins.. Love it :D

  • @Jorinde666

That might be because eric is a member of the shins

  • Jeeez, subpop does it again... love it!

  • DANG. this is tellement refreshing.
