  • Why are you wearing a hat?

    ...inside

  • i have a degree from a broadcast arts school, but i don't work in that industry anymore, i do freelance makeup. can i send in my broadcasts arts degree along with my freelance makeup artist business card to apply for one?

  • if i have my cosmetology license, but i'm a freelance makeup artist, would i be eligible for the 40% off? i also checked off makeup artist on the form ...

  • Would I be able to just send a business card and a composite card?

  • @Vanessa95076 yes~ you can :)

  • so for sure we have to be a professional to get pro? like we can't just be "normal" people? :(

  • @LaKitty020309 you don't have to be licensed if that's what you mean~ BUT it's primarily for makeup artists (freelance or professional), not just for everyday ppl who just like makeup or spend a lot of money on makeup.

  • can it be my college id or amm the card to vote sorry i dont know how its called in english in from puerto rico :) lol

  • then.. if we're just a "normal" cutomer then we can't get it right?

  • Hi Koren! I was just wondering if the MAC PRO colors are more expensive than the regular colors- for example like the MAC cream color bases, Rich Coral is a pro product, would that cost more than say, a regular product like Fabulush. Thank you!!!

  • how would i go about making a composite card and printing it?

  • You always give awesome info...thanks!

  • hi koren, just wondering if there is any way in which i can apply for a pro card without being a membership of any of the professionalisms?? i spend too much with mac so i would really appreciate one!!

  • what do u mean about the agent information?? the c-card?

  • Thanks Koren you were very thorough and I appreciate you taking the time to educate us in all the different types of documents. Keep posting your great vids. Your an inspiration to those of us who are passionate about your profession.

  • Is a website editorial okay? Can I just print that and include the link and send that in as my 2nd form of proof? I'm a photographer and there is an article on my work online mentioning my name and gallery.

  • Thanks for posting this information!

  • thank you! i'm on my way to becoming a PRO! Wish me LUCK! :D

  • Hi Koren! First of all , LOVE your name but clearly because it's very similar to my own (Karen) lol I am young artist just hired by MAC and finally decided to get my Pro Card (even though I know i'll get the company discount) I've avoided it for so long because the wait time is soo discouraging but decided there's no time like the present! Just had to share my excitement with you!!!! VIVA LA PRO CARD LMAO!!!

  • Oo, I got a post card thingy from mac. I thought it was so random.

  • Hi Koren. I am a photographer...i have a business card and should have an article in a brochure soon so thats fine. However i dont have an i.d. card or drivers licence or anything like that. I am disabled so i have my disabled badge...would this count as identification? It has my name on it etc

  • what if you do nails and have your license? thats only one of the 2 documentations...what's the other one i must include? beside my DL

  • hey i know im not koren but im not sure if you're a nail specalist that that's supported but you can always try send them your nail tech license and a business card and also send a photo id of yourself and wait and see what happens. i pray you get it!!!

  • hehe i received the card in the mail yesterday (friday) ! I sent in my documents 2 weeks ago and it got processed within a week (they charged my credit card) and as soon as the transaction was done, i received my card the following week. the whole process was no more than 2 weeks!!

  • Koren,

I was just wondering...if MAC for some reason decides I am NOT eligible for the discount, will they notify me? I mailed my info and requirements in weeks ago and I havent seen anything from them...the check I sent hasnt even cleared...so Im a little worried!

  • Hi I know Im not Koren, but the same thing happened to a friend of mine, She contacted them via email and they let her know the status of her application :)

    HTH

  • Thankyou so much for throwing an answer out there =) its appreciated!

I just got my card the other day, so problem solved!

    Thanx again!

  • Hi Koren, thank you for posting this.i would like to apply the membership card but i dont have the required doc. i have been a Maybelline Dream Team Finalist in 2006 and we r trained intesively to become makeup artist for 6month. however, there are no supporting documents for our participation.could you please advice on this?

  • I love when you say "How cool is that!!!?"

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MMMUCCHHHH!!!!!!!!!! i really APRECIATE IT!!!

  • If you are self taught make-up artist and are looking to expand your collection, can you apply for mac pro? Do I have to be licensed? Or can I just have things like a composite card made and then apply?!

  • Most freelance MUAs are self-taught. You dont need to be licensed, just any of the other required documents supporting your freelance work will do.

  • Cool, thanks I really appreciate your help! ^_^

Umm, I know this may come from no where and very off topic... But are you Pinoy?!

  • what if i have a newspaper article of me in a pageant, i have a few of them will that work?

  • its the Profession that they look at - the documents just supports. I dont think pageant contestants counts, as its not a profession. But if you're a title holder like MISS USA and have to work for the whole year of reign, then Im sure that qualifies.

  • Can I get this card in Mexico? I am a nail technician and I have a certificate, although there is no licencing system here. :S

  • I dont think Mexico is in the program yet. I think only a couple Euro countries are. theres International info in the website.

  • I act in community theatre shows, but not professionally on Broadway...I'm getting my headshots done this summer...could I apply for a MACPRO card?

  • are you getting paid in your community theater productions? If its your main profession and youre getting profesional pay, then you can apply.

  • No, I'm not getting paid, as it isn't regional theatre :[ we're becoming artists in residence and hopefully that will be a little push towards becoming a regional theatre group and getting paid

  • well, not sure, but you might qualify as a resident artist -- ask your artistic director for a letter of recommendation, and also if there are printed programs with name credited, send that with your Headshot and Resume and see if it goes.

  • great!! thank you very much!

  • hey koren!

    great video,

    just as always! :)

  • wats macpro?

  • watch my video called What is MACPRO. Hope that explains.

  • what if you do nails, have a business card & resume & stuff but NOT actually licensed? (self taught)

  • uhmm you have to be licensed to do nails professionally. Same with haircutters.

  • do u really need to be into one of the careers or can you just lie and still get the membership?

  • that is one hot headshot pic!! yum yum ;-)

  • sad that im not a makeup artist... no chance for mac pro card.... will love to get 1 but na can't.... hehe... me dring for mac but have the buy expensive 1..

  • sorry if this is a stupid ??? but im just starting to get into makeup... what are the benefits of the mac pro card...

  • watch the video called What is MACPRO, and that will answer your question.

  • thank you very much! i just sent my application yesterday because of your help!

  • looking good in the swim suite :) lol

  • this is extremely helpful...I just picked up a MAC application Pro card today, and i came on to see this!!

  • Hi Koren, I was wondering, does an professional fine artist qualify? I know of a fine artist that uses pigments and mixes them with oils to use in his paintings...

  • I THINK it's just fine performing artists... i don't know for sure though, sorry if this doesn't help at all!

  • boodjagirl, thanks I knew about the performing arts, I just wondered if fine art counted as well... (since some artist use their pigments)

  • Thank you so much for making this video!!!!

  • hey koren,

    this is really helpfull.

but do you have to be over 18 to apply.

because im 14 and i have my headshot, resume, actors licence and passport.

  • I didnt see any AGE requirement -- must be for Makeup Pros. I know there are performers on Broadway and Cirque du Soleil under 18 who are Pro Members, but not sure if their parents/guardians are involved in the application process.

  • thanks!

  • I'm a bit confused but I graduated this last week with a degree in theatre, is that really enough to qualify for a pro card? :D I'd be so happy if it did.

  • If you're pursuing professional theater as a performer with your degree, then yes - definitely go for the Pro Card. Congrats on Graduating!

  • wow koren you have a great body!

  • ballroom studio employees who compete count?? :]

  • I suggest contacting MAC Pro - and see what qualifications they have for Professional Competitive Ballroom Dancers. I know a few Pro Ballroom Dancers who are Pro Members, and they mostly do competitions.

  • Very helpful. Thanks for making this video.

  • Thanks!

  • i dont apply for a pro card but i was looking forward to having a nosey into what you need haha! xxxx

  • THANKS !

  • that was very helpful :)
