  • love the slow motion....... real kewl

  • In Soviet Russia you dont cross river

    the rives crosses you! :)

  • always go with the flow of the water!

  • damn, i would have lost my bike somehow . And i would have been the only one to fall with my luck. Great vid!

  • lol silly kiwi...any aussie would have made it!

  • Yeah... saw this one on the longer vid. Impressive your mate was already in the water before you were under. Good to have good friends right?

  • I have crossed Colorado Rivers like this. I ride angled a little upstream. Like the guys in this video who made it. Your bike is too little, light, to get torque traction. Enjoyed it!!!

  • Waimac?

  • More like the Okuku River, not totally sure, but definately not the Waimak

  • @transalpernz did your bike run after that?

  • @crf450r23 Yep, drained carb bowel, air box, exhaust pipe and pulled the spark plug and turned her over a few times to pump out the water. Then put it back together and it fired right up. Did another 4 hours that day and changed the oil just to be safe when home. Been sweet ever since.

  • 1st lesson of dirtbiking- allways take some mates along with you just in case. My buddy rode his XR650r off a wooden bridge into the water 2.5 metres below & was stuck underneath in the H20, he was in trouble until Gasgas man lept down to his aid. Of course its in my "when good dirtbikes go bad" vid. (no I dont know why he rode off a bridge at right angles either)

  • Nice running start, getting your front wheel up off the ground was key. NOT!! This video should be titled, "How not to cross water"

  • Thanks for that. This could be the result of my own dreaded river crossings. It hasn't happened to me... yet!

  • O man, that looks cold, was that in Tassie?

  • in the Canterbury Foothills, not far from Christchurch, New Zealand

  • River crossings are great. I got water footage for you to see.

  • man...if you would of just went up further you would of made it.

  • Was your bike good to go after the dunk?

  • Yep, drained carb bowel, air box, exhaust pipe and pulled the spark plug and turned her over a few times to pump out the water. Then put it back together and it fired right up. Did another 4 hours that day and changed the oil just to be safe when home. Been sweet ever since.

  • i bet youre bike cylinder cracked at that change of temp

  • oh dear

  • Good Work Transalpernz had to watch that again , and also again great work on that still shot.

  • awesome!

  • That is a great vid....u never know until you try, huh? LOL

  • damn! how cold was the water? Off the Alps its near freezing yeah?

  • It was pretty cold, i never really warmed up or dryed off properly after that. Not the sort of temperature i'd like to swim in.

  • Classic. Looks like you hit a wee hole there.

The beemer made it look easy!
