@Hevishh You either did something wrong, your image wasn't the right format or the server has custom decals disabled. I just tried this and it still works.

@Hevishh If you get a small lambda (λ) when you use spray that means the server has custom sprays disabled; find another. If you get a black/grey box instead of your spray that points to you using a .png image. In case it's neither of those, you just get the default spray for example, then you either put the tempdecal in the wrong place or forgot to make it read only.

@MrDarePunk If you see it everyone should be able to see it. If not its either that "others" are using a pirated game or the server you are playing on is blocking custom sprays/is corrupted.

@digamondvonn Atm I think I was using ZDSoft Screen Recorder 2.7 because it was the only recorder that didn't lag the shit out of my old computer xD Now I am using Camtasia Studio for "normal" recording + Fraps for games. Camtasia is most likely the best screen recorder there is and it costs 299$ but I can send you a serial for free if you want :p

@kukurishk Well the spray should work no matter what operating system you are using, however if the tag converter is not working try running it in compatibility mode with an older windows like Windows XP. @MrKasperabhay That small lamda logo means your spray is working fine but the server is blocking it :/ Don't know about non-steam cs servers but most of the normal servers atleast aren't blocking custom sprays.

@Filmer1eX oh OK i got it ...actually for a working logo i have to strictly covert every 24-bmp image ( they are the only ones available on the internet) into 256- colors bmp image ( i haven't tried converting it into any lower ver. of bmp images) by Microsoft paint program...only then it works otherwise it wont.... anyways its working fine sorry to bother you S!r ... and thanks for the video ..

@TheSasuke1010 Sorry you can't. The HL1 engine does not allow sprays over a certain size or quality (that's why the sprays aren't as good as an original image). You would need a hacked client and server to use bigger sprays.

@Yusei5dNioGr27Alex Well, if you have actually bought the game yes. This will work with a pirated cs version too but the folders will be located somewhere else.

Just buy the game it costs 9$.. With a pirated copy you can only play on cracked servers (thats a very small portion of all the servers there exist and with a legal copy you can play on ALL servers, cracked or not) and you will have a lot more troubles following tutorials etc.

@TraximusFear Try recreating the tempdecal file using a different image. Also make sure you set the file properties as "read only" to prevent CS from replacing your spray with a new tempdecal file.

@agustin280fer It doesn't matter because the hl tag converter automatically resizes the image. The reason its always a bit blurry is because the tempdecal.wad cannot be larger than 14kb and you can fit a lot of quality in just 14kb's :)

@053441647 Yep this should work with non-steam CS too the directories are just located at a different location. If you like CS however and can spend 9$ plz support the game developers and buy it (unless you ofcourse have already paid it but hate steam like many do or your steam account got stolen etc)

@ChubbyComa You're image was probably a .png one and those wont work. You need a .gif, .bmp or .jpg (.jpg recommended) when you convert your image to the tempdecal.wad. Just open up your image on paint and save it as .jpg. Then convert it using the hl tag converter.

@6ch6ris6 If you don't set the file as read only everytime you change your ingame settings the spray will reset. There is a console command that you can use to set the file as read only too. Open up command prompt (type CMD in the windows search) and then type there:

attrib +r %ProgramFiles%\Steam\Steamapps­\YOUR STEAM NAME\counter-strike\cstrike\te­mpdecal.vad

then press enter.

@24111chip 1. make sure you set the tempdecal.wad readonly 2. if your steam language is other than english, make sure you put the tempdecal on ALL of the cstrke folders (not just cstrike). 3. Make sure the image you used to make the spray was jpgm gif or bmp (NOT .png for example) 4. Try a different server, some servers have custom sprays blocked.

Then just drag the new tempdecal you created in to your cstrike folder. The only difference in installing a custom spray on a non-steam cs is that the installation directory is different. I can't know where you installed ur non-steam cs you will just have to find the folder.
