  • 8 people dont know why the fuck they clicked on this link and disliked this amazing songg

  • Rest In Peace. aint nobody like Jay Dee and there never will be

  • I used to bump this album like crazy back in 2001-had NO clue J Dilla was behind this at that time

  • Under rated Jay Dee production. The beat, Jazzy Jeff's scratches, and the vocal samples mixed with into lyrics are beyond dope.

  • @JBC16 Ahead of his time? No man, he's right where he needed to be. He was amazing.

  • idk!!!!

  • Jay Dee asked 6 people that question.

  • Jay Dee was so ahead of his time and this song one of many that proves that point...forreal who thinks of sampling JB's words to incorporate it into the verses??..and what ?uestlove was saying about his ability to match the beat to an artists vocals are so true...this track is simply genius

  • This song is so chill. Just heard it at a local event, had to check it out.

  • i dont why either

  • Fantastic vol 2,Greatest hip hop album ever made.

  • See I'mma Get Wit U

    So We Can 'Uhhh'

  • @TheBBoyCompany haha, yeah! Classy! :)

  • was this beat made by jilla ?

  • @hi1049 Jazzy Jeff

  • @hi1049 this is a slum village track when jay dee was a active member, so the answer is yes

  • @Dschaylizy

yes i knew it had an awsome sound too it

could have been made by a legend

  • yo, ima say this, i was spittin one day, and my boy was like yo, I got something for you, right, so Im like ok, he says, this the group i was telling you about that you sound like, in the way yo flava is and vibe when you spit...and it said Slum Village Vol. 1 fantastic man I fell off my seat trippin cause i never heard of these cats befo, but they was the group that knew my vibe and i was sold, so why a good thang always go phucked up, and break up when they seem to get betta?

  • RIP Sharon Lasut en J Dilla

  • This is the most played song on my iTunes. For damn good reason. RIP Dilla

  • An bes believe that you won't DOOO IT!. Yeah man Ya Know. lol. Coo song.

  • Thumbs up if u agree that Slum village was influenced by Tibe called Quest!

  • @MrMorningside125 jdilla was a part of the production that formed tribes sound. Back then he was known as jay -dee.. So its kinda the other way around.

  • so..anyone know what is the actual track that is sampled.. the one that is being played on a loop under the James Brown scratches by Jeff... its clearly not a James Brown track... sounds like some thing from switzerland ... some strings being plucked...partially played at the last 5 seconds of the track????

  • 3 people know

  • BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES - GOOD ONES, XXX

  • Bobby what you gonna play now??

    i dunno

but its gott to be funky 1,2,3

    make it funky..

  • madlib, dilla, damu the fudgemunk, thes one, k-murdock, nujabes, nicolay, peterock, 9th

  • I don't know why the fuck this fuckin track wasn't a single. Maybe because it didn't have a dance to go along with it

  • @MrStockford1 It was a single. On GoodVibe 2000

    12" Single

    "I Don't Know" (Radio Edit) (2:25)

    "I Don't Know" (Album Version) (2:25)

b/w "Eyes Up" (Album version) (4:23)

  • Yesterday, i was listening to music in the subway with my mp3 on shuffle mode and i ran across JB 'Make it Funky' What you gonna play now? ... Bobby, i don't know... but i didn't feel like listening to this(is that possible anyway?) so i skipped to another song and this tune came up; words can hardly express what i felt at this very moment, i mean there are hundreds of songs i could have ran across but it had to be this one! the smile in my face was priceless :)))))))))))))

    what are your picks.?

  • alch. is dope. so is marco polo. and others shit. but these are the "greats.!"

  • no your WRONG..first off dr dre? wow buddy dj quik is better than him so take dr dre to top 10..pete rock isnt better than dlla..premo would be 3rd dilla one ...!

  • nigga...dr dre isnt evn hip hop hes rap so you def should go somewhere excuse me like wow ..your prolly one of them jerkin i think lil wayne is the best rapper...fuck out of my shit son

  • LoL bitch? broad? haha okay buddy sure dre is...w.e as i said

    dilla

    premo

    9th

    pete rock

    rza

  • your producer list is missin flyin lotus my nigg

  • oh yeah i know my bad..

  • maaaan whatabout madlib, doom, just blaze all heavy hitters these days

  • @lachon91

To me Premo is one, but Dre changes the game with every record. He has to be in the top 3 at least.

  • @lachon91 how about exile?

  • @lachon91 Where the bloodclot is MADLIB @ on the list!!!!???

  • @lachon91 The Ummah

  • @lachon91 Uh Quik gotta be over RZA fareal.....

  • @lachon91 Flying Lotus, and Madlib after dilla

  • @lachon91 i know mad dames down with OG hip-hop, dont disrespect the opposite sex son

  • @lachon91 I Agree with u on that List. Dr.Dre is overrated as hell and Especially Timbaland. People say that Dr Dre is the best Hip Hop Producer or the Top 5. Fuck out of here, He's not even Hip Hop and he almost Lost his touch of making Music

  • @Beatz4Life96 Go fuck a donkey. Get off underground rap's dick. Dilla, Madlib etc. etc. are all dope as fuck - but even RZA, Premier and the whole of the WU went mainstream, it doesn't make 'em wack to me.

Dr. produced some of the most dope shit ever done in rap (Snoop), he's not in my top 5 either, but give credit were credit is due.

  • @Deekstercph WHERE

  • @Deekstercph I didn't they say they was wack so how you sound. you should probably think before you talk. I love some Dre Beats, but im saying that in my opinion.

  • @lachon91 totally agreed. and look out for Nottz, Krysis, Madlib, etc...so many that shit all over Dre and Timbo...yea i fuckin said it...

  • @lachon91 Um you need to put Pete Rock second or first because if you dont have Pete Rock you dont get J Dilla, and those are J Dillas own words, RiP Dilla

Also, go back and listen to the first NWA Tapes. You will realize that Dre's Sample work is just a good as the greats, he just stop using them after Biz Markie lost a law suit for samples and the whole game changed as far as paying for samples in 93.

  • @lachon91 wwwwaaaaatttt?! Dre's one of the most influential producers in hip hop! he's by far better than 9th and large pro (though I like him over 9th lol), and in fact everyone else on that list is better than 9th. And you underestimate Quik's skills, go listen to Quik is the Name, Safe n Sound, Rhythmalism, Balance and Options, etc. he's incredibly talented. But, I do like the others on your list a lot. The only thing I disagree with is hating on Dre and Quik, it's unnecessary to hate!

  • @ssaleem92 definitely agree, all the producers he listed are amazing, but there's no denying that dr. dre and dj quik both had their own thing and were equally as good.

  • @shehdaath yeah they're equal IMO too, at first I thought that Quik as a producer was better because of his ability to use so many different instruments and perfectly blend them but Dre is just brilliant. I love em both.

  • @lachon91 real talk homie

  • @lachon91 HAHA right on. add Ant, Madlib, and Jazzy Jeff to the list. Dre? No really, I love dre

  • be real witcho self!

  • i am

  • who cares what you think

  • retard. did you start listening to hip hop recently? now you talking like you know.

  • @nemesis700 can't believe these delusional people marked this as spam, it's true.

  • Ooooh Yeeeee... Dj Jazzy Jeff on the onez an' twoz!!

  • utilizing his famous transforner sxratch!! that was like the utmost show of respect to SV!

  • you misunderstood what i said. i said 20 different samples, not 20 different songs. he used multiple samples from those three songs.

  • dilla was a beast. this song has like 20 james brown samples in it. nobody did it like dilla!!!!

  • nah, 3 james brown samples: sex machine, make it funky and my thang!

  • you probably got that from wikipedia and its bullshit...

that "WAAAAAATCH ME!" is from Superbad

  • yeah, you are so super smart. nah, i dont use wikipedia. and it isnt bullshit, its the truth. so dont hate and listen to this dope track, homie

  • go back to ur wikipedia.

  • no man... u got it wrong

  • where the fuck do you think superbad got it from??

  • yo any1ne can feel any1ne its just that type of music what u peeps listn 2 it dont matter what it is if its a dilla or a dr.dre production longest u nod to it.. that my prefrence peace..

  • real talk

  • some ya'll dudes dont know dilla like us true dilla cats know him. he's atleast top 5 anyday, everyday. if u aint really listenin to all his shyt then u aint gonna feel him

  • love this song. what's the sample after he goes "i don't know" in the beginning? (main guitar melody)

  • james brown's make it funky

  • heres my top 10 slept on producers unlike yall with ur pete rocks, ur dillas and premiers but dont get me wrong j-dilla, pete, premier, r fuckn dope but here it is not in # order the LG exprience j-rawls (lone catalyst) dj spinna dj krush buckwild k-def ge-ology beatminers (evil dee) platnium plied pipers (bling47) Kankick
  • I agree wit almost everybody, but Jay Dee,

madlib and Dj mitsu truly missin,

maybe nujabes and samon kawamura too

but though some people claim hip hops dead

there´re still too many great producers

to put em on a top ten list!!!

  • damn man... dilla and pete should be top 5 easily. everyone got different preference tho so i aint hatin. beatminerz is nice

  • Jazzy Jeff should seriously be on this list! Especially since he scratch on this track!

    'I dunno!'

  • why the fuck is everyone forgetting ali shaheed muhammad?
