Cool instruction... but, how do you know initially where to place the bridge on the guitar... how far back from the rear pickup should you start to place it when you are trying to get correct intonation? Also, what if you get the 2 e's intonated and the G is still way out... this is a problem I'm having...
@baylin95 just for a starting point, double the length from the inside edge of the nut to the center of the twelfth fret, that should give you your proper scale length.
The only way to solve the individual string problem is to replace this primitive bridge for one that intonates saddles individually, sorry.
@cast390 Not necessarily. As long as there is no torque on the neck, it should be fine. SInce this is a set neck guitar, it's less likely to be a problem. If it's a Strat or a Tele, that's another thing.
@trashedlostandhungry well yeah, i saw that. they're the precisely same tuner, but the fender ones have been discontinued.
as in no longer available. as in you can't get them other than used anymore. as in useless to tell someone if its something that they're not gonna find.
holy fuck, thanks for the video! I just restrung my Gretsch for the first time and couldn't figure out why I was having trouble maintaining a tuned guitar... You can imagine how frustrated I got trying to record like that
Anyone have a new 5120, with the bridge Pick-up Way too far from the strings?? all adjustment maxed out!!!

THIS is why models like the Brian Setzer have a pinned bridge. I'd forever keep knocking it out of intonation. But that's just me.

I'm glad that I have a Gretsch with a pinned bridge :)

The guitar should be in the playing position when adjusting intonation and not on its back.

Hello Amo,
Try APTuner, much cheaper that having a tuner on hardware...
Just an opinion.
