@agricolae101 this is essentially the salute Duthart came up with with very some better equipment nd slight changes truth is shotts are the only band trying to change things up when it comes to competition with the tenor drum tube thing and the two bass drums last year
Alex was the king. No arguments however when Shotts ruled supreme Base and Tenor drumming was more basic than I see and hear now. I played with paisley way back then.
I would like to see more variation of tome from so many tenor drummers as this would add to the overall sound. Do not agree with the tick tock statement and think the flourishing is very good. Well done Shotts.
Tis a brilliant piece of drumming but I really dislike the "tick tock" style that the Tenors use....visually unappealing and looks awkward. I wish that some Mid-Sections would use a smoother, more approachable style. Not a dig at anyone just my 2 cents worth.
SideDrummer2009; LOL - you sound like you are some kind of authority on side drumming (doubt that very much)...you are looking at drummers who would NEVER be good enough to stand with!! Drumming has come along way since Duthart - but respect to the man, he pioneered so much!
Perhaps he's saying that if Duthart were alive today, there were some drummers he'd say would never be good enough to accompany him. I could be misinterpreting the whole statement because I don't know who Duthart is, but I'm going to look it up right now.
the bagpipe is tuned in B Bemol... which is the note for the flourishing tennor.. ?
