I've honestly never seen philosophy divided in that way. It's usually: -Ethics -Metaphysics -Epistemology -Aesthetics -Logic -Political Philosophy -Philosophy of Mind -Philosophy of History -Then there are a million and one other "philosophy of 'x.'" That's how I've seen it organized at least.
@KathyGurl14 There are different ways of dividing philosophy into its subfields. Yes, you must have seen the standard materials on philosophy, which divide philosophy the way you listed. I use non-hegemonic and counter-hegemonic sources. Thanks for your comments.
Thank you. I always considered myself to be quite philosophical but have never given time to the actual study of the subject itself. I am currently studying for a degree in economics which i find very difficult because i tend to read between the lines which compromises my actual academic performance. ive suffered with depression most of my life- i struggle with my mind. thanks for showing this philosophy framework i think it will help me with all of the above.
Glad it helps. I always like economics & philosophy. You are right, many things are left for us to read between the lines. I'm glad you opened up to me. Keep on your struggle for a better quality of life against depression.
@RuggedLike I am exactly the same, except I haven't gone into University yet. I was considering Economics for a course, as well. I don't know what caused my depression... I think I was looking for a deeper meaning to life, one I still have not found.
