Was there a protective sticky plastic on the little silver thing on the top of the 250gb HDD? It'd be cool if there was, I removed the plastic from the 20gb one, regretted it ever since.

hey will the transfer still work if you have a corrupt hdd because last night my battery charger dropped on the top of the hdd and my whole xbox reset and i lost everything and i cant long on my xbox live account or anything hell i can even make a profile because its saying its unformatted. so will anything that is saved on there but is still not allowing access will let me transfer on to this new one with and transfer cable without this one getting corrupted ?

@killin010 you shouldnt have to transfer it. if you got ur gt on it you just got to recover it on the new hard drive.saved game data you might need a USB flash drive to transfer your saved game data though.

@biacth911: Since all these drives are laptop HDD's anyway, you can remove the casing and put the HDD into an external casing that you can use with a computer via USB/Firewire.

one question: If you buy an xbox and the 250GB HDD at the same time, do you have to do like shown in the vide (plugging the usb cable in, insert the disk, etc...) or can you just swap the hard drive in (obviously before you boot it up for the first time)
