I was circumcised as a baby and i'm sure it hurt like hell, but i'm GLAD it happened. It probably gets all kinds of human food and doesn't have to worry about hunting or survival. If you look at this from a different perspective, The indians don't usually do it for fun, but for money. Most people can't even get a job in some places, and people who do dancing bears get money, so usually it's for there survival, most people don't have a choice if they want to survive

Last year I donated over $600 dollars to animal charities (about $400 to WSPA) because of everything I learned about animal cruelty. I think there were about 1200 dancing bears before the rescue operation began and now there are only about 100 left and WSPA hopes to have them all rescued by the end of this year :). But seriously I hope all the people who owned dancing bears die a slow and painful death and go STRAIGHT TO HELL!!!!
And the saddest part is, that you have to think, these bears have been tortured by humans since birth probably. How many of these bears are going to instinctivly attack humans because of it in the future.

Also ALL of the bears teeth have been pulled out by pliers, (gums only)...and their claws as well,...so they are defenseless,...and can be manipulated by inflicting intense pain. There were two separate dancing bear "attractions" there,...so it is not a one-time or rare thing.
It makes me sick to my stomach,...and bothers me to this day. I am not a bleeding heart, tree hugging, over the top animal lover, per se,...but this made me SICK.
I saw these bears personally on the road from New Delhi to Agra (the Taj Mahal).
The "trainers" wanted money to photograph the bears. My girlfriend said NO,... but I later regretted not getting this cruelty documented for the world to see. This grossed me out,... and does to this day. The bears have a rope up their nose, and a hole drilled in the top of their snout, where it exits. It must cause an unimaginable amount of pain when it is "jerked on" by the "trainer."
I saw similar things in India too. There is plenty of documentation though. It was a good decision not to support people and groups of people who do this to animals.
I watched the show on Animal Planet about these bears. Honestly it makes me sick that god has created these amazing animals and people use them as entertainment all the while they are suffering and being kept under these horrific conditions. The show was filmed by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) to spread awareness about this cause.
If the WSPA is saving bears, why didn't they save that one and video themselves rescuing it? Anyone can cut and paste videos from the web. Is the WSPA actually doing anything?
They can't walk up to a man and take the bear from him, especially because the WSPA person was probably a foreigner. It would be considered stealing and they would be prosecuted as a criminal. You need to obtain permission from the local government or police before doing something like that.
Nobody said that the WSPA had to film ALL their rescues. However, they should at least film SOME. It's not hard to do, and they should post some videos to be accountable to the people giving them money.

According to the WSPA website, progress is being made to help the dancing bears. There are still a few rural areas where this cruel sport goes on; but as more people are educated and the bear trainers are learning more humane occupations, bear dancing may eventually become a thing of the past. There are also sanctuaries being set up to rehabilitate the freed animals.
Humans deserve care and so do animals. You are a mammal like this bear. It feels the same pain as you. Where is you're compassion? Humans have thousands of charities... Yes they need more but don't deny an animals right to live without torture.

@sombersolitude No, the WSPA and IAR ended the dancing bear practice in India last year and in Europe many years ago. The only place to still have dancing bears, is Pakistan but not for much longer. Do your research before commenting please.

Also ALL of the bears teeth have been pulled out by pliers, (gums only)...and their claws as well,...so they are defenseless,...and can be manipulated by inflicting intense pain. There were two separate dancing bear "attractions" there,...so it is not a one-time or rare thing.
It makes me sick to my stomach,...and bothers me to this day. I am not a bleeding heart, tree hugging, over the top animal lover, per se,...but this made me SICK.

I saw these bears personally on the road from New Delhi to Agra (the Taj Mahal).
The "trainers" wanted money to photograph the bears. My girlfriend said NO,... but I later regretted not getting this cruelty documented for the world to see. This grossed me out,... and does to this day. The bears have a rope up their nose, and a hole drilled in the top of their snout, where it exits. It must cause an unimaginable amount of pain when it is "jerked on" by the "trainer."

I watched the show on Animal Planet about these bears. Honestly it makes me sick that god has created these amazing animals and people use them as entertainment all the while they are suffering and being kept under these horrific conditions. The show was filmed by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) to spread awareness about this cause.

They can't walk up to a man and take the bear from him, especially because the WSPA person was probably a foreigner. It would be considered stealing and they would be prosecuted as a criminal. You need to obtain permission from the local government or police before doing something like that.

According to the WSPA website, progress is being made to help the dancing bears. There are still a few rural areas where this cruel sport goes on; but as more people are educated and the bear trainers are learning more humane occupations, bear dancing may eventually become a thing of the past. There are also sanctuaries being set up to rehabilitate the freed animals.

This is a very cruel practice, where these bear cubs are stolen from their mothers, then tortured and beaten in order to perform these
"dances" on the streets of Pakistan and India.
Please make a donation to WSPA today. They build sanctuaries to save these wild bear cubs from utter brutality.

they do this to Elephants as well.....teaching them to dance. In Melbourne, Victoria, Australia there was an Elephant that had been saved but it kept swaying because it got taught to entertain people. It was so sad.
This happens in nearly every country somewhere. Thankfully in Australia wild animals stay wild and arnt beaten:)

Everyone can help. If you ever see a dancing bear, or people with lions or tigers who you can have a picture with, don't pay them any attention, or good interest. Show your disgust. If they have no market, they will stop doing it. I just wish I could help all animals! Animals are innocent. They all deserve to be free. I hate this cruelty.
