Any trace of the flip - Techno Beat i think it's called - on the net? No scratching, just drum programming and a tune that's stuck with me since hearing it on pirate back in the days.
Hope to see you at the 'STREET SOUNDS UK FRESH REUNION' at Scala, London, Saturday 16th July. CAPTAIN ROCK, NEWCLEUS, THE B BOYS, GRANDMIXER DST & more... plus Bboying & Graffiti. Non-stop great music spinning on the decks, including this track of course which was on Street Sounds Electro 5. See you there!
HIP HOP PURE AND CLEAN. THIS IS A PURE HIP HOP BEAT WITHOUT RAPPING SO WHEN YOU LOOK UP THE WORD HIP HOP IN THE DICTIONARY, IT SHOULD MENTION THIS AS A REFERENCE. WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, THIS IS PURE MF HIP HOP!
still got this from back in the day on a UK compilation album called ELECTRO 5 which dropped in 1984 when i was a breaker. album has Breakers Revenge on it, but a different version to the Beat Street version.....
I heard a tune in a cub back in the 90's. The DJ told me it was called "Esperanto" (not sure of the spelling) by Knights of the Turntable. Doesn't seem like it would be this group. It was more of a trance/techno tune. Does this ring a bell at all? I'm having the hardest time trying to find that tune.
Absolute classic. This was made when hiphop and electro was fresh, underground and properly done with heart. Not like the utter crap over produced commercial sh~t nowadays. Real class.
Yeah, this is a classic. Love the EQ and Amp in the video. Adds a nice realistic visual touch! I used to listen to these old vinyl records on my Sears home stereo record player...ha ha! Those were THE days!
So here I am dancing away and I think I just bust something (and it certainly was more like a rib than a move) .... But I will say this ... I'll never grow tired of the way that music can reach into your past and subconcious and make you feel young again....... now where is my Electro 6 album?
jeez, havent heard this for 20 years or more. still has a brilliant atmosphere that new electronica doesnt have (even though i love many new styles too)
@Dulux2 Word, music industry is fucked these days.. Seems like the beats are all written by basic robots using cheesy algorithms and sang by Microsoft Sam.
O trust me I was there! In the UK did you go to UK Fresh 86 when a certain Dr Dre was still with the World Class Wreckin Cru? DJ Yella is now a porn director!!!
DAYUM - DAYUM - This TRACK was the SHit back in the DAy - I was a Sr. in H.S. - Crank this up loud in my very 1st Car - Off Da Chain track THANKS OF THE REWIND - Made a brother smile
You are truly old school, hey I was at the same school. Would you happen to have Jeckyll and Hyde's The Challenge and,or, DJ BattleCat's DJ N Effect...Guam U.S.A. OldSchool Rulz..........
funny if you see peeps scratchin doin turntablism today and what these guys here can do...i got some of their 12" vinyls...technically and skillwise still topnotch. thanks for the UL of these more than just classics. pioneers and milestones.

I agree. Todays gangster crap has nothing to do with the raw and original early Hip Hop. A great shame
