  • Hmmmm..... I remember having a goldfish in a bowl for years and years who was the happiest little thing ever! That bowl i think was about a 1/3 of a gallon or less....

Perfection is not ever the result of anything....

  • @mikethe454driver Goldfish can survive in subpar conditions, but they certainly will not thrive. If they are in proper conditions, they can live for decades and grow to be almost two feet long. Your goldfish in the bowl had stunted growth because of poor living conditions. Is it possible for it to live in there? Sure. You could also live the rest of your life in a paper box if you had to.

  • @mikethe454driver

yep mine lived for 9 years. was VERY happy and had a good life! BUT i also was a child so I did not know they needed big tanks. now i have a couple in a big tank. :)

  • what a beautiful fish!!!

    are those real plants? :)

  • Nice I have a single tail Black moor (oddly enough) and a lionhead in a 20 gallon. I plan to upgrade to a 30 gallon soon. Your shubunkin is very beautiful!

  • HEY i have a video of my shunkubunkin goldfish if you could watch it and comment that would be great you just wright shunkubunkin goldfish up the top and it is the first movie thankyou and btw i got 2 shunkubunkin goldfish in a 50 litre tank and they are sooooo happy

  • i had 2 beautiful shubunkin goldfish and 2 fantailed in a 12 gallon tank and they got big. sad part is i just bought a 20 gallon tank to put them in and they died the day i put them in. why because my dad decided it would be fun to turn the heater up to 100 degrees.

  • cool i have one to and how do u tell if its a boy or girl?.....

  • i have 2 shubunken and 2 fantail in my 20 gallon tank. and i feell like i need a bigger tank because my shubunken are now really big

  • How do you keep your qt tank cycled? do you just add some filter material from the regular tank?

  • We got a huge one in our pond =D

  • yo guys im planning to get 2 new goldfish and few gouramis. if 14 gallon(planted) aquarium too small for em

  • Actually, pet stores do not have the space or time to quarantine fish. They also do not need to put fish in appropriate tanks(example: minimum gallons 180) you might see then in a 30 long or something like that. thats because the fish isn't going to be there long term. also, its the purchaser's responsibility to QT each fish, its better to assume that each fish in the pet store has some sort of disease(99% of the time ich).

  • Wow nice shubunkin almost the same as mine, except my shubunkins tail in white you can take a look on my channel

  • Nice looking shubunkin. I just got two for my 40 high. I'm really happy with them.

  • wow thats a realy nice tank awesome video

  • Damm nice fish...I am going from tropical setups to gold fish very soon, and I want a shubunkin just like this one

  • Wow! What wonderful!!!!!! I have just one nice Shubunkin in my pond!

  • The only negative thing I have to say is that goldfish need company theres room in that tank for two maybe even three in comfort.

  • That's a 10 gallon quarantine tank! You can't put three goldfish in a 10g tank in comfort. I don't even QT more than one goldfish in a 10g. Please do some research on them before you misinform people.

  • Everyone should use quarantine tanks. Most people just 'assume' that because they just bought a fish from a pet store that it is in perfect health. When the truth is, pet stores are also capable of making mistakes. Just like all of us. Quarantining this fish will help ensure that this fish is healthy and that it poses no biological threat to her other fish, in the big tank. She probably didn't keep him in there for more than a few days, anyway.

  • @burgersoft777 Quarantine tanks are very useful. Please know the facts before making any assumptions. I once had a pond full of koi fishes (about 10 or so). One day I bought another one and I didn't have a quarantine tank yet. Later that same week, it had a disease and killed off all my kois. So please, fish enthusiasts, place your new fish in a quarantine for about a week before introducing them to your own tank.

  • Goldfish do not need a school.

  • @burgersoft777 i have 2 subkins 1 frog and 1 snail

  • that is one well cared for goldfish! that fish is lucky to have you as its owner. good luck on your tank!

  • ^_^ so cute r

  • how much shubunkins can i put in a 135 gallon tank!?!?!? plzzz help i want the most i can get w/o killing them

  • around 6 maximum 20 gallons per fish

  • nice i also have the shubunkins in a 50 gal tank,i love the colors.

  • Despite it being your qt tank I absolutely love the decor!!! Are the plants in the tank real or fake? Also your shubunkin is gorgeous too. Wouldn't mind having one.

  • Combo of natural and fake plants. The substrate is Tahitian Moon Sand by Carib Sea. Thank you for the compliments! =)

  • Oh that is just a gorgeous fish. I have two Shubunkins too. How did you get that water so crystal clear? Our tank has a slight whitish haze to it (possibly the lighting looks clearer in the dark), even when cleaned with a big 30-40 gallon tank filter going. Any tips would be appreciated on keeping the tank aesthetically appealing. Two fins way up for your video. :)

  • you should put more filtration. my tank is crystal clear too

  • Her name is Sparkles.

  • how do you know it is a she

it is cute tho wots its name

  • Coldwater fish: 0.5cm of fish per litre of water

Tropical fish: 1cm of fish per litre water

    this is the best rule...

  • i want a fantail goldfish and 2 shubunkin goldfish for my 10 g tank i'm also geting common goldfish and comet goldfish and a black moor for my 5 gallon tank the others i'm putting in the 10 g

  • Yikes, please don't get more goldfish for these tanks. A single goldfish needs AT LEAST 10 gallons of their own space to survive and thrive. You can not put even ONE goldfish in a five gallon tank, let alone several. Only one goldfish should go in a 10 gallon tank, and even then, it will need a larger tank later.

  • Beautiful fish.

Is it possible to have a Shubunkin but one that's mostly gold with a white belly and white tail and fins.

I've been told its a goldfish but it had a long body and pretty fins like this one, whereas my other fish (that's recently died) was definitely a goldfish and looked nothing like it.

  • small but thats a beautiful tank

  • Beautiful Shubunkin. What size is your aquarium?

  • Thank you! That tank is a 10g, but it was being used to quarantine her before adding her to the main goldfish tank. She is currently in a 75g with three other goldfish who are smaller than her.

  • awws he cute ^O^

  • B E A U T F U L !!!

  • How long should they be in QT for?

  • Typically, I like to QT new fish in their own cycled tank for at least two weeks. I wish I had QT'd this fish longer, because I didn't notice any problems with her, so I moved her to the main tank after 10 days. Surprisingly, she gave septecemia to the others and they all almost died. I treated them, and they survived. From now on, I will be QTing new fish for at least 3 weeks. QT works so you can monitor them for any sign of disease, and so you can monitor their appetite!

  • How large is the Main tank? Does she get buddies? She's beautiful!

  • Thank you for all of the nice comments! She's quite happy now in the main tank. She's the largest goldfish of four. All four are of the common/comet variety. The tank is 55 gallons and has tons of filtration. I change about 30% of the water a week, and test the water all the time! As the goldfish get larger, they will be moved into even bigger waters.

  • she is beautiful! great looking tank too =]

  • thats one good looking fish :)

  • Oh, hi Itsy! I didn't know you had a YouTube account. I was like, "Man, that fish looks familiar!" Haha.

  • beutiful fish and amazing tank!

  • She's a beaut!

  • nice shubunkin! I keep shubunkins as well. I have an 80 gallon. what nice fish they are!

  • Thanks! The tank she is in now is 55 gallons. As she and the other three comets/commons grow larger, they will be moved into a larger tank! She's the largest of the four.

  • Beautiful looking Shubunkin. I am a huge fan of this type of fish, myself. ;) How large is your big tank, if you don't mind me asking?
