  • Yankee Prepper - It will be interesting to see in a couple of years what the prices will be as compared to those you have videotaped. This will be excellent evidence of true inflation - especially considering how the "inflation rate" is fudged by authorities! In my heart of hearts - I am extremely worried that a day's wages will be worth a loaf of bread.

  • @saltnlightful That has already happen. The prices on the same products are way up.

  • "I am not willing to pay top price for a crappy product." Try telling that to people who go to Starbucks.

  • As I tell Minbound they are not out here in the corn fields. Thanks for the post

  • Damn I love Cottage Cheese ! No shit

  • Economic collapse is coming.Do the math.

  • Excellent video, I have to admit, though, I only buy Barilla pasta (it's the best dried pasta IMHO).

  • Yes sir, I love Sam's Club and COSTCO.

  • I think buying water is a waste of time...whats wrong with the water from the faucet?

  • @washuism If I have to explain it to you. It would just be a waste of time for me.

  • @washuism Ever heard of flouride? Its a heavy metal and its not good for ya. Cities around the US are actually starting to take it out of the water supplies.

  • @1TacticalMedic Do you have any information to support this claim? I only ask because I understand that Fluoride (an ion of Fluorine) is a halide pretty high up on the periodic table (between O and Ne). It is classified as a nonmetal and has many different ions, some very toxic, and some not.

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • I am an avid shopper of both. I spend a minimum of $150 per month every month though towards goods. I do not blame you, there is a relief knowing that this corporation is accountable for the products they sell so you won't get short changed

  • Great vid and excellent choices. Given a choice, I prefer Coscto because they carry a wider selection of healthy / healthier options. You can't find fish at Sam's that isn't from China (canned or frozen) and Costco carries a few of each. If you have a small business license, the Costco AMEX is great.. Cash back % on every purchase at year's end and discounts at partner retailers. $25 off on a laptop at office max at register for example. We pay it off every month and never pay interest

  • Wow. Looking @ prices a yr ago.... I could only DREAM of paying those prices again for STAPLES of "daily" living. Thank GOD for the banksters and eugenisists and their efforts to Cull the herd (SIC) Wished i was a yr sooner on prepping ..BUT i have my "secret veggie garden" cammoed up and hidden better than a so cal weed farmers stash. Pickles ant fried green tomatos and salsa for everyone!

  • Honey is particularly good survival food because it never goes bad.

  • im not a big drinker but buying liquor would make a good trading item.

  • stock up on vitamin C. it's a natural energy booster and the military uses it in the feild for that reason.

  • Wow i don't know where you live and I know this was last yrs vid but WOW the brown sugar was 5.00 and now it is close to 8.00. unbelieveable

  • wow food is cheap in the usa... A weeks shopping in the UK is around £200 - £300 .. about $500 a week !!!

  • DAVE MATHEWS!!!!!!

Thats pretty sweet, I love costco. Like going on days just before the soccer moms get there because then they have all of the free samples out, but none of the waiting. Although with the sheer size of costco's you can only ever tell they are bust from the parking lot.

  • booze here is twice that for half the amount

     :(

  • corn syrup and cane sugar are all in the same sugar is sugar please support American made products the more we buy foreign made stuff the more our economy goes down the drain the nutritional value is the same support our country and not the people against us.

  • @eosphorus904 corn syrup and cane sugar are not the same that is a FACT. And supporting a crappy product or policy from my country is just dumb.

  • @eosphorus904 corn syrup:( we are americans in america and we dont want stinking gmo corn any-fricken-thing.... corn syrup. They are killing us or trying to kill us with it.

  • wow. we pay twice that in australia!

  • Thank you sir. This is a very worthwhile video.

  • I wish I had a way to stock up on some of that 2.73 gas...

  • yes, whiskey will be the most important thing after the world has collapsed

  • The chix, meat, tortilla that u picked have low shelf life. How do you keep it from spoiling?

  • @hvn4bid Eat them before they spoil.

  • @Yankeeprepper Thats going to be alot of eatin!! LOL I'll be obese before the time comes!! LOL

  • @hvn4bid LOL!

  • I have access to a food distribution center and i get at cost, so you cant beat that.

  • items such as sugar, coffee, flour, pasta n such..will these items keep for years if in a mylar bag in a 5gallon bucket? Can you reccomend any books that list items to prep and how long they can be stored for? thanks for the vids, very helpful and informative!!

  • good stuff Yankee! FYI I hear the combo of beans and corn make a "perfect" protien.

    Might be worth looking into.

  • LOVE THE VID YANKEE,,HAD NO IDEA SAMS HAD SUCH GREAT PRICES ON BULK...THANKS FROM YOUR INDIANA NEIGHBOR...

  • OMG booze is so cheap in the states compared to Australia.

  • @Rekitt

The booze? How about the meat, chicken, oil and all the rest of it? Its all about half what we pay in Australia! And the current exchage rate has the Aussie dollar worth more than the US dollar! Coles and woolies have got us by the short and curlies!

  • I would like to know if you have a list of monthly common stock items you buy to give us an idea.

  • @CyberVatic Rice Beans Oil

  • @kaveman35 I haven't found so. That is why these stores are so popular and successful. In fact that is why they clobber the competition. But hey, this only the way I shop, you are free to do as you please.

  • Are you in Mormon Country? Your Sams has a lot larger selection of bulk packaged cans than mine! Also, we use the same TP...Love that POM!

  • As a replacement for toothpaste, use baking soda. No more dentists...no more teeth decay...and plus doing some body alkalizing. Do some research on baking soda, teeth and health in general. I'm stocking 100 pounds of it for starters...

  • @zachzodia baking soda is quite abrasive and can damage your tooth enamel if used too often.

  • @18wheeler76 I have a family of three plus my wife and kids and have been practicing food rotation for over 5 years now and you can save a ton of money buying in bulk. Period, end of story, nothing goes to waste.

  • dam great deaLs on liquor

  • Sir. I have (very) recently discovered the impending economic collapse and am on a mad dash to buy everything from semi trailers to bury, tons of food, solar system, meds (patriot nurse has that covered!), etc. My list is long. You have taught me a lot in the few days since I discovered your videos. I just hope I have time to get this done. I am on 3 acres outside the city limits. I have neighbors. It isn't remote by any means but I am planning on goats for milk, chickens and bees..etc

  • @MrShovelheaddan Chickens are great! 4-5 eggs a week per a chicken yummm!

  • Love your stuff Yankee. I just ordered 2 of those stoves you had in the the 4 part video about city survival.

    Keep up the great work

  • we have a store called smart and final , a supermarket for restaurants and caterers, good place to look for bulk sales

  • @TATTOOTRAINING I want that on my tombstone "Smart and Final"

  • A small bag of bread flour at the local grocery store cost me something like 4 bucks. Time to visit costco this weekend.

  • some things alot of people might not think of for general health....facemast, might b alot of germs, hand sanitizer, bath and body wash.....tooth cleaning kit....razor.....so r u at a sma club?

  • @KitemanTV Cheer's my ass. Shop the way you want too. This is how I SHOP.

    Enjoy the video...or not.

  • OMG that uncle lukes maple syrup is the best ive had

  • @teotwawki12 You might want to toughen up a bit for the teotwawki then.

  • Nice picks and helpful. I was kind of thinking about what a prepper tends to buy the most on their average trip to the store the other night--what timing!

  • Rule one from an outfitter, never depend on power to keep stuff cold. Dry meats and dry grains rice and instant just add water fancy stuff. Powdered milk etc. dry your own foods at 120-150f for beef.

  • The prices at Sam's Club look insanely low.

  • Thanks Yankee. If you ever get down to that big city you used to live in, I'd like to shake your hand and buy you a drink.

  • How infuriating is it that Mexico's Coke has real sugar and ours has corn syrup!

  • @laddjm Right! I feel the same way.

  • @Yankeeprepper I sometimes go to hispanic stores to just find some "real" coke, and some REAL mexican food. The best places are hole-in-the-walls.

  • @oregonnich Agreed. I have some ethnic asian and mexican stores I do go to. That would probably be a good video to. The asian stores are great sources for peas and beans.

  • @laddjm Ah, I've tried to avoid drinking soda mainly because it's so bad for you. That high fructose corn syrup is really, really bad. However, a friend of mine suggested to buy club soda and then to make your own simple syrup (sugar, drained fruit juice, and water boiled up). Supposedly it's a much healthier alternative to enjoy a sweetened carbonated beverage without the dangerous effects of high fructose corn syrup. Then again, I could always try to buy mexican coca cola lol.

  • @laddjm It's because the U.S. government taxes (steals) our money to subsidize corn farmers; causing them to grow more corn than there is demand to consume it. This makes corn products like corn syrup cheaper since they have to do something with all of that extra corn. Maybe if the government didn't take our money to begin with, everyone would have more money to spend on unsubsidized products.

  • I just do costco now. Seems like a better set of what I want. U just can't beat it.

  • Great video. I feel like I just went shopping in half the time. I especially like the Vodka, and JD bit. I'm gonna need a drink if.... scratch that... WHEN the SH hits TF :-)

    Tim

  • Sams member myself!

  • Got 5 lbs of Great Pork Tenderloin in my "All American" Pressure Canner on the stove right now!!

I am a Vegeterian, but husband is still a carnivore, so I can alot of meat for him.

Got through using my Food Saver awhile ago for Spaghhetti , 8 boxes!

Thanks YP for ALL you do.. I have a B"J's Club membership.. ( Insert joke here, ya'll)!!

  • YP, I feel stupid for asking but corn syrup?

  • @19ADC67 high fructose corn syrup is a VERY VERY VERY cheap sweatner that was introduced to the American food market decades ago. much cheaper than sugar. Problem is though....the body has a really hard time breaking it down. The explosion in obesity and diabetes can be tracked to the same time line as the intro of cron syrup into our food system. The side effects are to numerous to list, but you need to do research on this one. And avoid it.

  • thanks brother, appreciate the info

  • @Yankeeprepper

    I also avoid Aspartame,fluoride,msg,trans fats..

When new coke came out that was the introduction of fructose corn syrup in that soda I believe and then stayed with ''classic coke''.

That Mexican & Kosher coke with real sugar is hard to find & pricey.

  • I heard Later Day Saints(LDS) sells bulk foods for preppers and you don't have to be a member but donations are appreciated. They just have some staples, not sure exactly what but limited stuff like beans, rice, flour, dried apples, etc.

From what I understand $200 gets you 321 lbs of food.

I am going to check it out soon.

Google them to see if one is by you for those interested.

  • Let me know if they sell Denison's Chili there. It is by far the best canned stuff in IMHO. I usually avoid Cosco here in SoCal. The last time I used it was back in 2004 and I stopped because it was always so packed with people it was an awful experience. I may try again, with the economy down, it may be a little more "slow" to enable a reasonable peaceful trip. Not like the Oprah show giving away cars.....

  • I just found out that in Canada we can't do the group thing, apparently only the cardholder can use the Costco card, plus the system wont let you pay with debit or credit card unless you are the card holder.

Hey Yankee, did you find a loophole?

  • @rooftopeagle I have a business card (it does not have anyone's name in it) and I have sent other people to the club to purchase items for me and they have never been asked for an ID. But at the very least, if you bought the cheapest membership possible and then had a main card holder take email orders from lets say 10 families and pick up the order. You could also buy a business membership and use click and pickup order to have big orders prepared for you!

  • @Yankeeprepper Very true, we could all go and shop and have the person who's name is on the card pay for it and get reimbursed. Good thinking man, I've also heard cash can bypass this little problem of cards not working without being a member. Depending how many families get in on this maybe a business membership will work, I do have a business...

  • Good advice!

  • 4,88 four the water is real cheap. we pay over hire rufly calculating euro/dollar price a bout 18 to 22 dollar four that. you got to love america four that. easy to get big paks of food four real cheap! the chicken we pay a round 2.37 dollar per LB. and the best thing of america. you can bay ammo in a suppermarket. if thay find amo in your perzetion. even if its just 1 bullet. you can go to jail four 8 years

  • Great Video.

When times are stressful NUTRIENT DENSE FOODS are a necessity!

  • I love Jack Daniel's

  • @whobrown JD is great to kill tooth pain! It is a miracle pain killer when you soak a bad tooth and gums and rip the sucker out.

  • you over paid for the onions, water :)

thanks for the info on the coke. we drink hansens soda from trader joes ...my family dont eat any corn syrup of any kind

  • I always am amazed at how cheap the potatoes and onions are at both places. And they are always so fresh!

  • I buy some of those same items at the Sams in my area. I've made soup, re-fried beans as well as beans and rice from those pinto beans. I've vacuum packed 5 or 6 of those big bags of sugar into 5 gallon buckets & threw them in the storage locker, I make lemonade out of that lemon juice. Can't beat the price on those sams club batteries. I don't buy milk or eggs there though. I get those at an organic grocery co-op that I'm a member of. Can't beat the sams price on Toilette paper or paper towels.

  • Interesting. I pay more than $1 for that same milk package at my Sam's. Neither of my Sam's carries that big bottle of water,

Tonight, I made homemade chicken sausage with chicken thighs I bought from Sam's. :) That Riceland Rice isn't too bad and I'm saying that as an Asian but I use it mainly for non-Asian dishes. lol Nor do they carry liquor here, wine and beer but no liquor...I think I'm getting a bad deal! :p Well, gas is cheaper here... lol

  • @VivianRinSC That is interesting info. How could you be paying more for the same product at the same store chain? transport?

I pack riceland rice away in 5 gallon bucket for preps as well

  • @Yankeeprepper There's wide price range in different stores in even as few as 30 miles. I run through stores when travel takes me. If there is nothing to buy in and out in 5-10 minutes. I've gotten to know best prices in locations & I snipe loss leaders. Things I use at big discount, I'll fill my trunk with it if I can use it. I only buy veggies & fruit day to day & save big while stocking up. I have a massive chest freezer that holds more than 3 standing units. This I call ... hunting! lol

  • I think if you buy the cheap vodka and run it through a carbon filter a few times you will have something higher quality like absolute... I'm just saying lol.

  • Great info. We shop at Sams for all of the same things EXCEPT the toothpaste. Sams does not yet carry Toms of Maine toothpaste without the flouride. We started using this about a year ago and have noticed a distinct difference in how our teeth feel and how we feel now that we are not using the flouride. Of course, you could forgo the toothpaste altogether in a SHTF situation and just swig the Jack right? Thanks! Noreen

  • @atticus9799 Hi! Norren. Our Sam's does carry the Tom's toothpaste do I would guess it's coming down the pipe to you as well, the stores are pretty uniform.

I am very impressed with the size of that bottle of Jack, let me tell you.

  • great vid! Killer prices on some good things in the vid as well. I know this adds a little cost but my food storage is down stairs and my kitchen is small- I take the bigger bags- like sugar ,rice, etc. and I use my foodsaver to package up smaller bags- rice I'll put in the foodsaver bag what I use for a big pot- etc. I don't use the milar bags I see some use. I am soooo jealous- we don't have a Sam's Club here but we do have a Costco. You're eating good!

  • I think I like your Sams better than mine.

  • I'm glad you didn't leave the wine out (LOL)... :)

  • everything you just bought is bad for you and your family......box them all up now and ship to me in nc and i will despose of it properly....especially the jack daniels and cola......you can keep the gasoline, it taste like crap with cola......lol......

  • @ironhead41 LOL!!!............ how rude. I am heading out back to eat some acorns right now.

  • Yankee, loved the vid, once my new van is insured I'll hop over to the Costco!!! One quick bit of advice is to slow down the pans of the price tags, some the camera couldn't even catch a clear shot of the item so we missed it.

    thanks! You're an inspiration!

  • You aren't talking in the store, pretty loud when you drove up, then real quiet.

You afraid people are going to think you are crazy? I would be a little uncomfortable if it was me.

  • @thmsmhgn

lol...I figured is I went though singing they would have escorted me out for sure.

  • You're an admirable man Yankeeprepper, love the vids! Keep it up

    Thumbs up!!!

  • wow liquor at sam's club I'm so jealous.

  • @vonhismean In gigantic bottles too!

  • Thanks for the look YP.

The food critics are out in full force. ROFL

Good food is gonna mean the difference between life and death if the SHTF. Get the best quality that you can.

  • @TheGrayman1234

I always start off with "this is what I do", but it doesn't work. I was thinking about changing my channel name to "this is what I do", what do you think?

I took the time to make this to help others compare prices. As we dip further into this economy. People will have to look at this closer. Teaming up to buy a card together, might be a great option as well.

  • @Yankeeprepper Teaming up to buy a Sam's club card? Hmmm now that is a good idea. Especially with members of your group or family. That is the reason that me and my wife stopped our membership. We did not use it enough to take enough advantage of the bulk purchases.

You could also share other membership costs. Cool!

  • I agree completely with the vid and comments! The hippy food nazis don't understand that starvation will kill you a lot quicker than the miniscule amounts of chemicals in that food. "Organic" is a BS government label. I don't have a problem with corporations on any general principles either, especially after reading "Atlas Shrugged."

Oooooh, $34.67 for that big ole bottle of Jack Daniels? I gotta find one of these stores.

  • @AwakeAndDangerous

If I didn't use some pesticides in my garden, I would never get the yields I need. If the SHTF and it's still hitting a year later. You will be able to trade a can of spam for a bar of gold. But maybe that is what is going to need to happen to wake up the food nazis. Going without food for a while might warm them up to a good bowl of Rammen noodles.

  • What do you think will happen to the worlds population when the bees are all gone? Which is happening at an alarming rate due to the pesticides? And, you don't have to yell. I like most of your vids. They are very informative. Just trying to help the masses, as are you.

  • @moonshadow93924

Well there are bumble bees and mason bees to start, but I don't think we will lose the honey bees.

  • Well, I'm not a hippie and I'm not a nazi. I'm 50 years old, so I'm not an ignorant child either. Poison by any other name is still poison. Now, I saw the video of your garden and that is quality food. It looks like you also fish and that is quality food as well. I only commented because you stated that the food at Sam's and Costco is "quality food", which it is not. No offense meant, just wanted to let others know who may not know that the majority of the food you showed is crap.

  • @moonshadow93924

In my opinion it's very high quality food. I have eaten alot of food, and I think I know the difference.

I think for 50 years old, you don't know as much as you think. But hey that is just my opinion.

  • Hey YP, I know your a business owner as well so this applies to you: with a sams business card you can use there click & pull service online, which is basically you logging on there website shopping for everything you need and them having it all waiting for you up at customer service the next day!! Saves a TON of time!!! Also as a business customer you have access to extended Sams Club hours. Regular customers can start shopping at 10am while business customers can come in at 7am!!

  • on any of the food you did not look at the ingregients. a lot of stuff has high fructose corn syrup which has mercury in it. also some salts they use are extremely dangerous. you seem like such an on top of things guy. all the food you bought is really bad for your kids.

  • @cucumber202 Well I was going to do 55 hours of video of me reading the ingrediants but I decided to keep it under 10 min.

There is NO HIGH fructose corn syrup in any of the foods I purchased. I really hesitated to do this video because I knew I was going to get the hippie food nazi's. That is why I said "this is what I do".

  • I noticed the tortillas you purchased... at costco they sell un cooked tortillas in the refrigerated section. Name brand "Tortilla Land". They last 3-4x times longer in fridge than the pre cooked ones, and taste so much better. Our family loves them for enchiladas, burritos and especially for cinimon sugar and butter deserts in them.

  • @jplerwill I will try them, I go to Costco as well.

  • Parboiled rice, spam?!? Bleached sugar and flour?!? Imitation vanilla, what the heck is that? Bullion (msg)?!? Gosh, I sure hope you didn't actually buy that stuff! Great deal on the tp though!

  • @moonshadow93924

Spam and Parboiled rice is GREAT for the SHTF. That is what this channel is about

  • I smoke occasionally and drink alcohol too.

  • @moonshadow93924

BTW- the Bullion cubes in TORRES brand that sells at Sam's has no MSG in it. I buy and use it all the time.

  • sorry, but the meats are filled with pesticides and antibiotics and are not good for your kids. The vegies aren't organic, again filled with poisons (pesticides are meant to kill living creatures) and not good for your kids. Have you done any research on large scale chicken farming? I know you mean well, but most of the foods you show are not really that good for you and especially not good for growing children.

  • @moonshadow93924 Without pesticides more than half the world population would be dead.

I EAT TONS OF MEAT AND BACON EVERYDAY.

  • I shop at both places alot.

  • Get the Jack Daniel's! lol

  • @DEMCAD I am not going through the end of the world or any disaster without a drink (or two maybe) LOL.

  • I love how alcohol gets as much camera time as food. Just because the world ends doesn't mean we gotta go dry does it? lol.

I had a shitty day today and your vids cheered me up. Thanks Yankee.

    Keep 'em coming =)

  • You can find great deals at these places. But be wary and be smart! Not all items in these stores are truly better because they are bigger! God bless you yankee prepper. We love the vids!

I would rate it 5 stars but the new you tube set up only allows me to thumbs up ya.

    Survival

  • anybody question you carrying the camera through the whole time? !

  • That is one quite sam's club. I get beat up everytime I go. It is literally shoulder to shoulder shopping here. And that is only if you can find a parking spot to park and go in.

  • @tnjeffofalltrades I have a business membership that allows me in an hour before all that. Very nice.

  • @Yankeeprepper - Oh man! I could fill a buggy twice in a hour!
