too muddy setup. I have this amp, and this sounds like the crunch channel? either way, this amp blows. Its probarly the camera that cant catch the sound. Better to mic it up, and go that way trough for demonstrations. My digital camera did a better soundjob than this, when making a Engl Savage demonstration

I use a Engl Fireball with a ENGL E412 VG 4x12" PRO Vintage Box (Celestion Vintage 30)

And my sound isn't so crappy as here showen.

btw got the same EMGs but unfortunately not this guitar *sigh* :(

The hell raiser doesn't have the greatest tone I've ever heard. You can play it through anything and it sounds a little thin.

I think it would sound better with a Mesa or Marshall cab.. Ive never had anything against Engl cabs, but the tone in this vid sounds like a speaker prob..

I have the floyd rose version of this guitar and I have to say that the sound is extremely thin. It's awesome for cleans though. However, sounds very thin/muddy/horrible for metal. I'm saying this out of honest to god experience, dialing in for hours on different amps. Am I the only person with this problem? The regular EMG 81/85's sound much better than the new 2009 TW EMG's for heavy stuff, from my experiences. Woe is me.

I agree every time i play that guitar in stores it never sounds right. i own a C-1 classic and it is good. I have played a Schecter Loomis model and it kills. I have a neck through ibanez with emg 81/85 and it has way better tone than the hell raiser. I like Schecters, but that guitar always sounds thin slash out of focus. I think it might sound better with Seymour Duncan Blackouts you should try that. Perhaps even the AHB-2 Metals those have extra gain and mids. This might balance it more.

okay now im a little apprehensive. ive been saving for a white V1FR and i play in a kick ass metal band. i have a charvel san dimas style 2 with SD JB and 59 and it kills outta my line 6 spidervalve. i dont want to spend extra on PU's when i have to dish out 900 w/o case. so you think the TW are weak. let me know what you think and what r u gonna do about your prob. everybody says the opposite with the 81/89's that they suck for clean. so now the TW's suck for heavy?

you might have a problem with your wiring or something, the TWs are perfect for metal and i have played this same guitar and have had no problems with it, and i dont even play 6 stringsand they sound as heavy as the 707 tws

I don't know if mark101vdg is a shit head or not, however, I do agree with him 100%. The tone in this video is waaaaaaay to buzzy. This is a poor example of the legendary Engl tone. Nothing against the guy or his playing, but that tone is flying in noob territory.

yeh its hard to get a great tone form 1 sm57. but you can hear what the amp is capable of. plus the guitar isnt helping the tone in any way really
