these sound like a quality set! looked at the logitech's but dont like the inaccuracy of the sub...the klipsch are brilliant however have issues with reliability....going for these!

Same here. I keep thinking, "Well, I presume the satellites are going to sound better because of the dual mid range drivers on the MX5021 but the Z-2300 is more powerful and cheaper."

I still can't decide. Does anyone know how the Logitech Z-2300's satellites hold up against the MX5021? Would the difference really be noticeable in the end?

Well here's the thing, I have also have the Z-5500 that actually is way more powerfull and better than the z-2300. When I use Z-5500 in 2.1 the sats sound muddy in comparasion to the mx-5021 sats and in performance; in terms of treble mx-5021 sats puts K.O the z-2300 or z-5500. On bass department mx-5021 and z-5500/z-2300 sound pretty the same but in bass loudness the logitech models can go really louder instead of the mx-5021 due to power limitations.

Your right about the logitech speakers, the phase plugs that they use in their satellites suck. I have since replaced the satellites on my z2300 and am looking towards polk audio satellites for my z5500. Hell, any satellites with conventional paper driver sounds better than phase plugs. my questen is : how is the subwoffer, can it handle extreme bass?

because i am a fan of the hardstyle music and house, trance.

This speakers sound wonderful in all types of music or applications but they are not designed for listening at very high volumes, not because of the sats but the sub that don't have power enough to keep up with the sats. If you want sound quality MX-5021 is the way, if you only want bass for the head at high volumes better option is the Logitech Z-2300.

So I can plug-in mp3 players or portbale cd player?? I heard that if you own 5.1 speakers you cannot plug in mp3 player but because it is not compatible. If you have 2.1 speakers you can plug in mp3 players. If I bought Altec lansing MX I will not use it to my computer I will just play it to my mp3 player.

Even if its Stero RCA inputs( red + white wire) your able to get a cable for like $2 usd and it changes it to 3mm plug( mp3, computer, ipod size, etc.)

never listen to the fx6021, so I don't really know; but since mx5021 has thx certification and has wood enclosure subwoofer I believe mx5021 are better and even cheaper.

guys, im a bit confused because almost all reviews that i've read, said that this speakers lacks the power when it comes to sub. they say that yung cant "feel" the power. i dont know if it just because they were comparing it againts Z680's and Z5500's sub or it's really that(MX5021's sub) weak. now, if you were to compare it againts other 2.1 speakers with same 50W RMS rating for the sub, will it stand a chance? like for example, vs klipsch ProMedia GMX A-2.1, AL CS21, AL621...

The mx-5021 sub gives you more, than can you expect from a 6.5" sub with 50W. The bass quality is excellent, for me is better than the z5500, which I own; but of course the z5500 goes more louder.because of having more power.

I never heard a 50w sub, but I already listen to 8"~12" subs and I can say that mx5021 sub outputs more bass than ppl normally can expect for a 6.5" sub.

i have got them now, but i have got a problem! The net in front of the subwoofer is vibrating (when the bass goes loud) and making enoying sounds! I know that they are removable, but i don't know how....can you help me??

if treble is at full yes it's normal. But when they start reproducing some music is everything ok, clear sound.

mx-5021 is good for everything with the exception of crazy high volumes. If love music with lots of bass and you want to use it at very loud volumes, the z5500 is better, now if you enjoy a lot of types of music the mx-5021 is much much better. I keep things like this, for SQ the mx5021 for spl the z5500.

I used to have a set of old Altec Lansing speakers. ACS-160.

My only altec lansing product is this set of speakers, they are actually very good and I never listened to a song with such definition, not even with headphones. Now I'm a great fan of altec lansing, thx to these set. :)
