  • This music oddly seems even more relevant now. The nostalgia written in to the music paired with the nostalgia for times past just makes it so... potent.

  • I was brought here because this is one of my favourite songs of all time. It makes me yearn for a simpler, more romantic time.

  • Fallout FTW!

  • i Love this types of sonqs and im olnly 14

    # i think my past life was around the old times (:

  • Fallout 3 introduced me to Billie Holiday

  • I love this kinda music damn

  • I just recently got hooked on Billie Holiday. What a wonderful feeling.WOW.

  • Thumbs up If This Song makes your thumbs become erect =D

  • Christina Aguilera brought me here actually.

I want to slow dance to this so bad...

  • I've watched this about seventeen times today. Considering the quality of this music, I think watching it seventeen times is healthy. Good for you, even.

  • 28 people won't be seeing you.

  • @zaxapitsa5 The Notebook is the BEST love story ever. It was made into a movie based on the book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. The main characters Noah and Allie are played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Every time I see that movie I want to cry because it makes me feel lonely...but the movie is CRAZY good.

  • this song reminds me that i am forever alone

  • can't stop crying......

  • I love this song...but it will always remind me of Noah & Allie. ♥

  • I feel myself in 1940.. waiting for that guy my father won't let me date to see me under a specific tree at a specific time of day.. ahh<3 beautiful

  • thumbs up if you still listen to this in 2012? :)

  • @daiselle55 No, I'm listening to this in 2017.. ??

  • One of my most favorite (and heart-ache inducing) songs. Well worth the pain of remembering though.

  • Reminds me of a boy I used to know. A bittersweet ending of a summer romance, and while we ended on good terms we never speak anymore and I still see his smile behind the frames of his glasses when I least expect to see him. It makes my heart ache in a sweet sort of way.

  • This needs to be in the next Fallout...it's not a Fallout game without Billie singing while wondering the wastes

  • @crazybluedevil4 I love fallout! :D

  • this brings tears to my eyes, such beauty.

  • I heard this in "The Notebook" and in "Shining Through"... both TOP NOTCH movies.. anyone know of any more that this song is in?

  • @HotmessJess715 well I don't think that's necessarily true for all of us. I, for example, know this song and I've never watched Notebook :)

  • I'm getting married this year and this song has so much meaning for me..that I might just have to walk down the aisle to it.

  • The only reason why you young people know this song is because it was in the notebook..... Lets be real here.

  • does it really matter?

  • @HotmessJess715 hahaha :) that may be true, but at least they know it and more people can enjoy something so wonderful!

  • @bs4e True, true. But I'm just pointing out my observations. Haha :) Oh well at least SOME of the generation knows what TRUE talent is and not that RACK CITY nonsense.

  • @HotmessJess715 No, not all young people :) Even though I have seen The Notebook I don't recall this song being on the film. I just heard this song today on a music website and just simply fell in love with it. Not because it sounded familiar from the film but because this songs is just simply amazing that I had to look it up on here.

  • @jasmineanimallover The song plays when they are laying in the bed together and they pass away holding each other.

  • I agree...I was born in the wrong time. I wish music like this was popular again...

  • Makes me want to cry. Maybe its her voice! Amazing! :')

  • One of my favorite voice of all time...

  • Ahh, those were the days with such great, gentle, and romantic songs. Back then, if you thought of your man as gay it certainly had a far different meaning. Great fireplace music.

  • I'll always love you Maria.

  • This song will always remind me of my ex -b/f... I dedicated this song to him when we were together but in two different states b/c the song describes the summer we spent together almost to a T...

  • i wish i was born in the 1920's, where romance was so much more real back then.

  • I wish I could have been born in the era of the great musicians of the 1920's to 50's....

Since i was 12, Lady day has always made my sad days brighter....

  • 2 Words: THE NOTEBOOK.

    Lmfao

  • The Notebook brought me here. BUT I keep coming back because Billie Holiday is an amazing singer and sings with terrific soul.

  • well. beavis and butthead brought me here.

  • My Nan brought me here haha older people have good taste in music

  • i was brought here by "nemesis" by roth :D

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeee this songggg! :)

  • I love this music. Not cause I'm super smart, not cause I'm young enough for it to be hip, or cause I'm jaded enough to say this is better than any other genre, but because I love it and that's all.

  • @casseycatable that's exactly how I feel..

  • ill be looking at the moon but ill be seeing youu

thumbs up if that is true

  • thanks

  • Oops, meant I knew who she was. I just like to correct myself :-)

  • So many have compared my favorite singer, Erykah Badu to Billie Holiday. I def hear the resemblance. I knew he she was before Erykah came out in'96-'97 and I'm sure I heard her in movies before. Just wanted to check her out again. Sarah Vaughn was also a beast. Ella still gets her props but it seems like Sarah was the underdog.

  • @bolder2009 Thanks for the info. I'll check out Brazilian Romance. I saw a program about her a couple of years ago during Black History Month. I think it might've been on Biography. One reason they explained Ella was more well known was because she had the right people backing her.

  • @boogieman2479 Wrong. I've never see The Notebook. I do, however, love great music.

  • Whats the notebook?

  • @Bluestorm55 are you fucking serious?

  • The way she sung touches...She had a voice filled with passion, warmth and beauty...An inner, deeper beauty....And her voice's colour is so different and gentle

  • If Billie Holiday and Sinatra aren't the greatest non-opera singers of the 20th century, I'd like to know who are.

  • @orson15 why Justin Bieber and Britney Spears of course :-P j/k

  • Who's to say who's the greatest? There are lots of greats to appreciate. Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby for two. There's room for everybody.

    Tanstaafl.

  • My good taste in music brought me here : D

  • Okay, I love Frank Sinatra but the way Billie Holiday sings this song actually makes me feel the song on another level. Love them both though!

  • Forever Lady Day, Forever! Never, Ever forgotten... Rest Peacefully, Beloved Billie Holiday. ~x<3

  • I completely agree with beautybliss08 ! nothing can beat this music! and that time period... i wish i was born back then! i am 15 years of age! words can't describe how much i love this music... and how it makes me feel!

  • This song is perfect for Christmas time...

  • what genre is this kind of music?? SOME1 PLEASE TELL ME!

  • @DrUnnameds Billie Holiday was known as a jazz artist and a vocal stylist for the way she used her voice. She also did a lot of skatting, when you sing syllables but not words. Anita Baker and my fave singer, Erykah Badu also skat. I think it's fair to say Billie heavily influenced Erykah.

  • I love this song.. my grandmother recently passed away on 11/11/11 and this song reminds me of her so much, I know she used to play it and " i'll be seeing you" just reminds me that one day i'll see her again.

  • FUCK ME I ADORE BILLIE HOLIDAY
