Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it. I grew up along C&O in N. Ft. Thomas, KY. I spent many happy hours train watching at Tower Hill and Mary Inglis Hwy. (#8), just East of Dayton, KY.
Wow! Look at Grafton back then! Just goes to show you the amount of change the diesels have brought us. No need for those servicing areas and coal tipples anymore. Thanks for posting this, I loved the Chessie System paint, and loved it even more on a steam locomotive!
Actually it burned in a roundhouse fire in Silver Grove, KY, not Cincinnati. It was then cosmetically restored to its' American Freedom Train 1 configuration and is now sitting in horrible condition at the B&O Railroad Museum here in Baltimore.
it burnt up in a roundhouse fire in cincinnati after the chessie steam special's trips were over in 1978. in compensation chessie system gave the owner a locomotive the c&o 614 from the b&o rr museum in balitmore and ran more steam trip under the name chessie safety express

Why didn't the B&O museum display 2101 in Chessie paint, she looks way better in that than Freedom Train colors.

Nice video! I knew exactly where you were when the video started. Looked like the video started just a few miles west of Corinth.
