You are not the only person with that information. Most Christians are aware that Jesus was not born on this date. I don't know how one "steals" a calendar date or why Christian are any more guilty of 'stealing 12/25 any more than pagans 'stole' it, but I think most people find a Christmas tree all decorated up far less offensive than the sight of women clad in berserkas walking down the street unable to show their identity in a western, democratic, and Christian society.
Don't forget those secularists are gonna also take away that American flag SO HELP ME GOD I GET SO DANG ANGRY GLENN BECKKKKLALGLAGALGKEGJKAUJKGADKNGANJKAKGNJAKLAEGJKAJKLG!
This is stupid. Everyone talks about freedom of speech, freedom of religion, but they all try to censor Christianity and God. Why? Because they don't want to admit that it's all true.
Sorry Christians, but Dec. 25th was a pagan holiday long before Christians stole it. Jesus' birthday is the original meaning of Dec. 25 in the same way that Europeans are native to North America.
But there's no need to edit out this lovely scene, just like there's no reason to blow up the Parthenon just because Zeus isn't real.
@uccomic: It isn't so much the date, but the idea that you can't mention Christmas because it might offend someone. Some people don't like Halloween, but there isn't a big push to not say "Happy Halloween" on October 31. The complaint is more about so called "politcal correctness" than anything, really. It's your right TO or NOT celebrate Christmas or Halloween.
@cryout2jesus87 Agreed. Believe it or not, even though I'm atheist, it bothers me that people avoid the term "Christmas". Especially retailers who totally exploit the holiday yet refuse to name it. I mean, for better or worse, it's been Christmas for close to 2 millenium.
@cryout2jesus87 "you can't mention Christmas... it might offend someone" you can, but it's more inclusive to use Happy Holidays. New years, Ramadan, etc
Look man, no one is oppressing the 76% of the population that identifies Christian. You've been in charge for the whole of the USA's existence. No one's feeding Christians to lions, firing or bullying them for their beliefs. You just aren't getting specifically endorsed by the state or some businesses.
@Konform2zoidberg ... the one uploaded by balfondo, I mean, but this one too, because it sounded like he was spewing profanity. Kind of one of those unnecessarily censored videos.
Which I guess was the point you were trying to make :)
uh...you geniuses are missing the point. The point is they are taking prayer out of the schools, the halls of congress (but they prayed after 9-11!!), removing the ten commandments from courts....the poster of this video is saying "this is next!". Thanks, MC
Even if you are Muslim, or Jewish, or Hindu, The Father and The Son loves everyone. Whoever gets the idea to remove this scene has no idea what the meaning of Christmas is or is a corrupt person who thinks anything associated with Jesus or biblical references should be censored from television.
that speech makes me smile every-time.last year no one was playing it on any channel.I guess I will be buying it in order to insure that my little nephews and niece get to actually experience something so lovely and to tell the truth it is one of my favorites and I love watching it during the year as well.It doesn't matter if it is Christmas or not I still love watching it.in fact it is currently the month of Halloween and I am watching Christmas Music & shows & Movies
Who says it is offensive?!? I am Jewish and I don't find it offensive in the least. Go ahead and celebrate your beliefs - as long you don't refuse me my right to celebrate mine. Fact is, this simple Christ-loving speech is responsible for the special becoming so beloved - I think it struck so many people as honest and not-commerical - and you needn't fear it being outlawed anytime, by Jews or anyone else. Relax and don't be afraid. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, etc
@catfacecathead I am also Jewish and just like you I don't find this offensive at all. In fact, I find it quite beautiful. I watched it every year when I was little and loved how it was something me and my non-Jewish friends could enjoy together. It wasn't preachy, but it didn't ignore Christ.
To cryout2jesus87...I love how you put forward in quotes. I thought the human race was supposed to evolve over time. How pathetic is it that CHRISTians have to take CHRIST out of CHRISTmas?
G-d forbid that speaking of Jesus Christ + Christmas should be thought offensive, while many lesser+darker things not be thought offensive. If this happens widespread, at least there is always hope for individual persons, in their thoughts, words+actions, to serve the L-rd, + there is always hope in His small, still voice + His promised eternal salvatation. After this long, hard race, we can be together again, in peace+joy, with Him. Peace be with you, brothers+sisters, now+always. +r
P.S. The dashes in "G-d" and His other names in my original post here are to avoid errors and harm, in order to honor Him, as Messianic Jews, Jewish Christians, and other groups and persons do in many of their writings. Pax vobiscvm, +r
The fact that people think that this is offensive is pathetic. Thats what CHRISTmas is about! If the was no Jesus then there would be no CHRISTmas!! duh!
Wow... if you think about it this might happen. and if you think again (can you do that?) if you combine all the holidays then your also taking away what makes each one special. politicians just don't get that for some reason.
@matt49usa Merry Christmas is a phrase. It's a couple of words strung together. By themselves, they have no meaning. It's the intent behind the phrase that counts. And if the intent is to truly wish someone a happy day, then whether you say Season Greetings, Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas makes little difference. People need to lighten up already! As a Jew, I think it is an absolute crime that Christians are being forced to basically hide their Christianity.
The story stands the test of time and deserves to be told. And yes....if anyone, the ACLU or anyone else is offended by this or any other references to the true meaning of Christmas that don't have to watch or participate. We all need to be able to celebrate the way we want, and taking Christ out of my Christmas would be stomping on my rights! "Freedom of Religion" "Freedom of the press"... FREEDOM... don't stomp on my rights because you are offended, just don't participate!
I am not a christian nor do I claim any other religion, but I would prefer to see Christmas celebrated as is, than see it destroyed by the left-wing wackos looking to appease the small percentage of whiners in the world. This is one of the fond memories I have of my childhood and I thank you for posting.
All that we know and hold dear is slowly being eroded for the sake of not offending those who only raise a ruckus simply because they can.
SAD.
