I think European education totaly sucks!!! ppl r studieng there because it is very easy!! Some of my friends who were studing here in Latvia (not really good) went to the Britain etc
men, the naturally sciences like math, physics, chem in some russian universities like MIPT is almost at par with schools like MIT, CalTech and the Ivies. I'm Nigerian and studied in MIPT and couple of my friends from third yr went for graduate school in the US in top unis like the above-mentioned and did excellently well. Schools like RUDN are not really that effective. Overall, russian education is still intact but the systems sucks!
Personally, I don't know Russian language...I know English...So I came to US...I wanted to go to Russia/Germany/France...That was what I thought before...but who would sacrifice their youth learning other language from scratch?
Personally, I think any State Department careerist who specializes in Russian affairs-as well as any US military career officer whose career plan involves Russian military affairs, would do well to study in Russia for at least a year. Not among military people or diplomats, but among common scholars.
